This was our second time at Stonefield Castle. I have to say I really enjoyed my visit first time round. This time was ok.
We were in room 11, this room backs on to the lift and had the shoe shine machine right outside the door. When someone used the lift you would have thought they were coming into our room. Not great if you wanted an early night.
It looked like round the bath had just been resealed as bits of sealant were floating about my bath when I ran it.
The shower head kept dripping.
We had the full scottish breakfast on the first morning, the sausage was a bit hard and tasteless.
Some of the staff found it difficult to understand my accent. (Scottish)
These are all minor
Staff were friendly, the grounds are beautiful, the view from the dinning room is stunning. We had lunch and a few drinks from the bar, I thought this was reasonably priced.
It is a dog friendly hotel for me this is great as we could take our dog.
Fudge does wander about the hotel but she is not allowed into the dinning room.
I think this adds to the relaxed atmosphere of the place.More
