Short two night break in sunny dry February weather (unusual) which enhanced the lovely views from our loch facing room (£20 extra per night but worth it ) and dining room . Hotel and rooms in need of some refurbishment but comfortable and friendly helpful staff . Good breakfast and dinner with langoustines and scallops from loch tarbert , just as well as most restaurants in nearby tarbert closed during the week at this time of year . Hotel gardens make for a pleasant walk . Highlight of our trip was day trip to Gigha and its Achamore gardens , regular twenty minute ferry crossing from Tayinloan

Room Tip: Old part of the building facing the loch

My wife and I recently spent a long weekend here at Stonefield Castle and if I started now I'd run out of superlatives to describe the beauty of the grounds and area surrounding the hotel in about a week, it's stunning!
The staff were polite, attentive and professional in every degree, from the welcome on our arrival, through every sumptuous meal in their "dining room with a view", and WHAT a view it is!!! We were treated like royalty from the second of our arrival until our reluctant departure. We'll be back in a month or so for some more recharging of the batteries. A sheer delight! Thank you

We are just back from a week end stay for my husbands birthday at the Stonefield castle hotel. it was just lovely from beginning to end.
we had the best suite in the hotel, the honeymoon suite, and to say the views were good is an understatement. From the three large picture windows you can see right accross the loch, and the tiny private island that belongs to the hotel.
there are lovely wooded walks, planted with huge old trees, and it is such a sunny spot some of the flowers were in bloom already.
We were greeted very professinally, and shown round the hotel facilities, and up to our room where the champagne was waiting.
The bed was fabulous as was the decor.
We had a sumptious meal in the restaraunt, and the service was excellent.
All the staff were lovely, but the two stars of this hotel are kayleigh and Heather (who are adorable), and the silver haired lady was so nice.
But, the piece de resistance was my breakfast. My husbands was good, big piece of finnan haddock beautifully cooked, (this was on the Sunday) but mine was out of this world. I have eaten Eggs Benedict all over Canada and America, and nowhere in the Uk ever does them well, but these two huge fabulous Eggs Benedict were the best i have ever had anywhere.
10 / 10 for everything Stonefield castle Hotel xx they really go the extra mile to please.

Room Tip: Go on go for it, have the Bridal suite. it is worth it.

Have just enjoyed a great weekend at Stonefield Castle. Arrived on Friday night and enjoyed a delicious meal in the restaurant. I had the chicken supreme which was beautifully presented and my other half had the steak which he says was the best hes ever had. Both got the cheesecake on the ! Soo good we had it on Saturday too! Breakfast is a must! The restaurant looks over the loch and the views are breathtaking! Saturday we explored the grounds and took a walk over to the island to take some pictures! There is welly boots and umberellas at the door for patrons to wear whilst walking around the grounds which i though was thoughtful. All and all it was a great relaxing stay. Will definatley be back. Staff go above and beyond and cannot thank the, enough for making our weekend such a pleasant experience.

Have just experienced one of the best weekend breaks we have had for a long time!! The staff at this hotel are EXCELLENT!! The food was beautifully cooked and well presented in a standard the Chef should be proud of. To sit and eat in the dining room of this stunning hotel is an experience in itself. Ann the General Manager was very professional and courteous and her staff have taken her lead and are a credit to the hotel.

Will return in the late summer to see the beautiful gardens in full bloom!

Room Tip: We asked for a loch room which had a beautiful view of Loch Fyne

We stayed at this castle with a 5pm deal. It was excellent value and we will return. The views over Loch Fyne from our bedroom & the dining room are superb. And when the night draws in the wood panelled bar & friendly barman are all you need for a truly relaxing evening. Add to that the best bar fish & chips & an excellent meal the night before in the restaurant & you have all the ingredients for a perfect weekend away. Yes the castle & furnishings could do with a little money & attention spending on them but Bespoke Hotels, the new owners, have, I think, an excellent venue on their books.
