we only had tea and cake but very expensive for what we got. Nice location. The service was Ok but not really the best place to have just afternoon tea.

After a couple of visits for a drink on deck – and being introduced to the ultra-tasty Munich Red on draught – we went out for a family meal at Cafebarge while on holiday further down the coast. Amazingly fresh food from a brilliant Scottish-Spanish tapas menu. The owner was a top host, creating a very nice vibe on what is an amazing Dutch barge. Apart from the fish we caught and cooked ourselves, the culinary highlight of our hols.

Fantastic location. Great service. Fantastic food, first serious vegetarian food we had around the western highlands/islands. Thanks!

We decided to get married on this fantastic quirky venue/restaurant and booked it back in October 2011. Our wedding date was 19th May 2012 - and oh my goodness - it was amazing - our weather was fab - the location was fab and the venue was a perfect choice. The owner Michael Casey was amazing to deal with from Day 1 and he did not disappoint. Allowing us to decorate as we pleased - and helping us with chair plans along the way - he really was lovely. The seafood canapes included oysters and sushi - which all of our guests commented after to say how delicious and fresh they were! I was feeling a bit nervous and didnt eat much! But on 2 previous occasions on visiting tarbert we have eaten here and the food has been outstanding, coffee is great and of course they supply WEST beer which is always a bonus! The new spanish chef is a talented man! All the staff on the day were professional, fun and the champagne kept on flowing!

Honestly - all of our guests thought it was the most perfect wedding and dreamy setting! I would recommend anyone to get married here - or at least nip in for some lovely fresh veggie and seafood delights!
