A lovely old hotel but a couple of things spoiled my trip. Breakfast, in a grand old high ceilinged room, was poor. A good selection of cereals, pastries, and err a 'cooked' breakfast. The items weren't cold but not warm enough to enjoy. That was the same every morning sadly, I stayed here in 2006 and the breakfast was excellent but this time was disappointing. We were told on the first day the chef 'forgot to put the heater on the food' - if that was the case he forgot the next couple of times too.
The shower in the bathroom was ok but water leaked on to the floor and on the last day the water like the cooked breakfast was tepid at best.
On the plus sides the hotel has good staff, a good bar with good beer and bay views.
Overall I like the hotel but the breakfast needs sorting, cook to order would be better there I feel.More
