“Good cafe in great location”

We have recently discovered this place and have now been a few times. The food served is tasty and well presented. Will definitely continue to patronise it, as there are not too many places like this in the south of the island. One criticism though - even when the cafe is relatively quiet, the tables, once people have left, do not get cleared very quickly. Seeing empty tables not cleared or cleaned is rather off-putting when arriving. This is something that can easily be rectified! Apart from this, it gets a thumbs up...

“Stunning views, informal but slick atmosphere & good food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 22, 2012

This place has been completely renovated in the last year or so. The interior has bare wooden floors and tables, comfortable sofas and a light, airy atmosphere. There are large picture windows to take full advantage of the wonderful view, right along the south west coast to the Calf of Man. There is a wonderful deck outside with tables, and a view that is heaven on earth. If the sun is out, a truly wonderful place to be, and if not, a smart, light, clean welcoming interior.

I had a home made chilli burger, and other members of my group had a roasted vegetable pasta dish and kids meals of chicken guijons and chips. My burger was chunky and good. The chilli was a topping of chilli con carne whereas I was expecting chilli incorporated in the burger. The chilli was a little bland, but the bun was fresh and tasty. A tiny portion of salad was served on the side, a more generous side salad would have been nice. The vegetarian pasta, however, was a substantial meal and was delicious. the kids meals were freshly prepared and good, chunky chips and wholesome looking chicken strips in golden breadcrumbs.

Prices were on a par with other eating and drinking places in the area, particularly those in attractive locations. Like other nearby places, you must place your order at the counter, but subsequent service at the table was quick and friendly, despite the server being sent back and forth a few times between the outside table and the restaurant in order to satisfy the demands of the kids for ketchup and drinking straws.

The food is good overall, but value and enjoyment would be improved if some meals were presented with more than just a little garnish on the side. However, I would say the quality is well above average, and the overall experience extremely pleasant.

“Very very overpriced but very beautiful”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 24, 2012 via mobile

On our recent visit to the isle of man we were thrilled to see bradda cafe up and running, we called in for breakfast with our 3 sons aged 11, 4 and 2 the breakfast menu was limited, our sons only really had the options of a very elaborate adult breakfast or jam on toast, myself and partner had a full English and at £9.00 we were expecting something special, there was nothing special about it at all and certainly did not deserve the ridiculous price tag, altogether we had 2 English breakfast, 2 jam on toast a cheese on toast and 1 drink each, the bill was nearly £40! For a medioca breakfast, such as shame, I fear this cafe will be closed again soon, such a beautiful place yet extremely overpriced.

“Lunch time visit”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 8, 2012

We called in to have lunch on a sunday afternoon. This was our second visit and this time the staff now come to your table to take your order in the past you had to go to the counter which you don't expect in a place of good standards. The food is good but is on the slightly expensive side. I don't like the way the cakes are uncovered on the counter! Plenty of seating inside and out. Loads of parking close by. Great views across port erin bay. Nice walks close by. After eating take a stroll up to Milners tower up at bradda head to work it off :) . Very nice decor inside and a nice use of fairy lights. Worth a visit when in the area. They have functions at times and have room for a marquee on the grass which would make a great wedding venue.
