This may be the best B&B I have experienced. Usually, I shoot for 50 pounds and in the country or small town so this was about double my target, yet the experience was well worth every pence.

The gardens are amazing with Jeff trimming and pruning all the while we were staying - it is quintessential England! The grounds are award winning and the manor house is also restored to a museum quality with all state-of-the art bath fittings and comfort features. This is an amazing place.

We stayed in rooms #6 and #10 with #10 being quite the master bedroom with two balconies and HUGE. Both were well appointed with the highest quality linens and special touches like chocolates and quality bath supplies.

I could not recommend a better place with access to Hadrian's wall and a cute town adjacent, much of it 13th century and quite well maintained. We stayed an extra night in the apartment with self-catering kitchen - also lovely and of the highest quality.

Jeff and Christine were very friendly and helpful. They have run the place for 17 years and upgraded all to the highest of standards!

Room Tip: #10 is a wonderful master suite. The apartment is fabulous for a family or two couples as it has a...

My husband and I stayed here last week, we are from Calgary, Canada and were visiting family in the area. Geoff and Christine are the warmest and most welcoming people. We had a lovely room and the food was beyond excellent, so much selection and beautifully cooked. The house and grounds are amazing and the location right in the middle of lovely Haltwhistle couldn't be better. If you need a place to stay in this area you have to go to Ashcroft House.

I stayed with Geoff and Christine for 2 nights, and they were so welcoming and helpful. The house and rooms are just wonderful - beautifully decorated with every comfort. Very pretty gardens with views rights across the valley. Delicious breakfast with lots of fresh fruit. Highly recommended!

Room Tip: I only saw one room but should imagine that they were all of a very high standard.

We spent one night at this fantastic B & B. Had a lovely large two bedroom bedroom suite.
The owner was very gracious and took lots of time answering all our questions. She gave us great nformation about Hadrian's Wall. The breakfast was wonderful with fresh baked croissants.

I have stayed at lots of B&Bs in UK and America. Hands down, this is the best. Such hospitality is rarely seen. My friend (who works in the hospitality business) and I were warmly welcomed with every question or need anticipated. Beautiful setting, beautiful gardens, and great breakfast. So glad we decided to stop in Haltwhistle and Ashcroft Guest House. If in the area, this is not to be missed.

Room Tip: We stayed in Room#6. Loved the room, bathroom and view.

Faultless hospitality, ideal location; entirely lives up to expectations set by previous reviews.
We stayed for two nights to visit and walk sections of Hadrian's Wall and were given really helpful hints on bus transport, places to eat and attractions in the area. The breakfast was exemplary, featuring local produce of the highest quality.

I have stayed here on five occasions for work related business. I had rooms in the main guest house and in the two bed apartment next door on different occasions. The place is spotlessly clean, but has a real welcoming homely feel to it with pictures of their family in the breakfast room. The rooms are always warm, cosy and delightful. They have modern features such as the iPod docking stations etc which just add to the overall impeccable standard. I made a throwaway comment the last time that I was here about not having a tv in the apartment bedrooms (even though there is a massive tv in the apartment lounge) and on my trip back this time low and behold tv's had been installed in the bedrooms. The owners of the guesthouse are what adds to the charm of the place. They are a lovely couple who really do go the extra mile to see that you enjoy your stay. It's a fantastic place that I cannot recommend highly enough. It's a real treat to be able to stay here
