The question you have to ask yourself is, Why would you not stay at Herding Hill Farm?
You are made to feel very welcome on arrival where you are presented with an array of animals and friendly owners. We stayed in the running water wigwam with hot tub. The wigwam is clean and warm, protecting you from all the Northumberland wilderness has to throw at you, with ample seating space and places for you to prepare your meals. The hot tub is an added bonus sitting out under the stars feeling the warmth of the hot tub as the cool breeze hits your face. There are plenty of places off site to walk yours dogs in the morning and at night. If you have come to visit the sights of Hadrian’s Wall then this could not be a more better place for you to stay being only a few miles from the main forts of the Roman Empire. We will definitely be back! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

we stayed in a wigwam and there were four of us. i'd asked not be in a wigwam which regularly has dogs in for my allergy and this was accommodated. however, there was only one wigwam which doesn't allow dogs on the whole site and this was right next door to the amenities. that being said, it wasn't too noisey, although the older kids did mess about there early evening. i would have preferred a wigwam further away at the bottom of the field for more privacy.

we paid extra for a hot tub, and got full use out of it. it was the perfect place to be after a long walk down Hadrians Wall, which took the majority of the day.

a beautiful place to visit, with some of the best scenery. the village is very small, and non of the pubs serve food until 5pm, which i found strange. there's a chippy in the village though.

this place is not cheap, but I don't mind paying for quality. however, we needed to take two cars on this trip as we were coming from different places, and the owners charged £5 extra per night for the second car, even though it could have been comfortably parked by the wigwam and there is a car park on site. i told them i felt given the money we were paying for two nights this was extortionate, but i got no joy. they were not so accommodating, and this left me feeling ripped off, as there was no mention of this when booking.

i found in general, parking and amenities in the whole area were very expensive. for example, for four of us to go one stop on the bus (approx 3miles) it cost nearly £8. absolutely ridiculous!!!!!

Friendly, modern, spotless, in the shadow of Hadrian's wall. Showers and toilets are modern and clean, water pressure is great! Owners are super friendly and helpful and it is a peaceful, happy place to stay. About 1 mile to the wall and slightly less to a great pub. Short drive to town, where there is a Co-op. Laundry on site, hook ups for campers. Brilliant place. Plus dog friendly!

We really enjoyed our trip here this summer - we being myself, my husband and our twelve year old boy. It's a pleasant campsite and easy to get to local attractions. The best thing for me was the peaceful warmth of the couple who run it.
We were there just at the end of the holidays and were in our own tent. It's a family and pet friendly site, which may or may not bother you. I should say that owners are requested to keep dogs on leads at all times, which I appreciate (even as an animal lover).
