Stayed here for a couple of months whilst working, waiting for house move to go through.
Enjoyed helping myself to continental breakfast as I was mostly up early and this suited me, I was offered full English breakfast which I really enjoyed on occasions when not out quite so early
Have been made to feel very welcome, enjoyed using the lovely guest lounge

My children and I spent a weekend here over the christmas holidays whilst visiting family. When we arrived we felt very welcomed which made us feel very much at home. We stayed in one of the cabins and it was very comfortable and cosy. There was plenty of space for myself and my 2 energetic children! There are beautiful grounds and loads of space for the children to play outside, the town centre was but a short walk away which was great. Rob was very friendly and amenable throughout our visit. If your looking for a warm, cosy countryside feel then this is definitely the to stay. Highly recommended!!

We were visiting Family over the Christmas period and stayed 3 nights in the Family Room with my Husband and our two girls, 4yr old, 2yr old. The house was beautifully and tastefully decorated with gorgeous christmas lights. It made the short stay feel very magical and cosy. The on suite double door bedroom was perfect. Kept down the noise so we did not disturb others. Each evening were we met and welcomed, asking what we would like for breakfast and at what time. It was wonderful to alternate breakfasts of our preference. Even though there was no tea/coffee in our rooms, we were welcomed to use the wonderful family kitchen were, things were set aside for guests. This worked out rather well, as we didn't want any accidents with our children in our room. Even though we had a TV in our own room (perfect distraction for the girls and their early morning wake up) The guest lounge with a massive TV and all your channels was just perfect for us, so beautiful, cosy warm and welcoming. I love the sofas, better than ours at home. Everything was kept clean and tidy.
Thank you for making our family stay Christmas visit so warm and welcoming.

The bed mattress was so old you were laying directly on springs. I had to use the quilt of another bed to lay on to prevent bruising. The breakfast was poor. Swimming in grease and the mushrooms were covered in bacon bits. Not good as I am a vegetarian and asked for a veggie breakfast. The property itself is very nice. No tea/coffee making facilities in your rooms either. This is the first B&B I have been asked to take my shoe off and leave them at the back door.

We are disappointed with this review as we have no recollection of this guest staying with us. We pride ourselves on our breakfasts and they are certainly not swimming in grease. We have no record of cooking a vegetarian breakfast in the last 3 months and if requested mushrooms would not be cooked with bacon. We do not provide tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms by choice as we have too many accidents causing problems. We do provide all the facilities in our lovely kitchen. We do ask everyone entering our home to leave their shoes in the hallway to avoid taking any dirt into the rest of the house. This is only what most people would do in their own homes. A mattress is a very personal item and all ours are regularly checked for wear and cleanliness and are cleaned or changed when nesessary. As we have no record of this person staying we do not know which room they could be referring to. There are no spare duvets in our rooms and no duvet was ever found on a mattress as added padding when making up a room. We take all reviews very seriously as they can have a positive or negative effect on our bookings.

Found the Poachers Den when looking for somewhere to accommodate a family of 5 for 2 nights without breaking the bank. The pricing was really good value and could be broken down to short stays which really suited us. The accommodation was a log cabin/caravan style building. Very clean spacious and well equipped. Would thoroughly recommend this to anyone who asks and will definitely stay there again when visiting the area.

We came to stay at poachers den in one of there log cabins. When we got there we had a friendly welcoming from the owner Rob who met us at the cabin. The location and grounds were excellent with just a short walk into holbeach town Center. The cabin we stayed in could do with a bit of an update but I understand that this can cost quite a bit of money when you have a few rooms to do. There was quite a few spiders which for me was very unpleasant (an Arachnophobic person) but this is to be expected when staying in the country side next to a lot of trees. We ended up leaving early as we had a small child with us who became unwell and the owners were cooperative with us leaving early. I would recommend this place to other people who are looking for a weekend away in the beautiful town of holbeach

We were away for the weekend at the time but I returned home to deal with the complaint regarding the spiders. The inside and outside had been cleaned by myself prior to occupancy but upon examination some spiders webs were found behind the the headboard of the double bed and around a lampshade. The guest had been given a free upgrade to a log cabin from a single room, as his partner and daughter had joined him for the week. I explained that due to the physical situation of the log cabins and their proximity to the surrounding trees they were spiders about and that this year in particular they required daily cleaning...especially on the exterior of the cabins. It was admitted by the lady guest that she really did have a fear of spiders and had a problem even whilst living at home. I gave them a refund of one night and they left early. Their work colleagues rented another of our log cabins for the complete week and were very happy and did not have any issues with spiders when asked to comment.

My wife and I recently spent a week there on a self-catering basis. From very many years experience of renting self-catering, we can unhesitatingly say that this was our most pleasant experience. The rooms are tastefully furnished, the kitchen well-equipped and airy, and there was the unexpected luxury of two good bathrooms, each with bath and "walk-in" shower. The cottage is located close to the "main house," very handy if there were to be any problems, except that there were none! Rob and Audrey Gordon, who run the place are a friendly and engaging couple who clearly go out of their way to ensure customer satisfaction.
