Would definitely go back very friendly, homely atmosphere. Excellent accommodation and lovely staff. One of the best breakfasts we have ever had. Evening meal was to a very high standard Very clean and tidy. Nothing too much trouble. The location is close to the beach, harbour and shopping centres.

We had anticipated a hotel of reasonable quality and booked an executive double room. We had a small room with a very small shower room suitable for one person at a time. The bedroom ceiling had a major water stain and the main ceiling lampshade had a large hole in the lining. On two very hot nights we were unable to open the primary and secondary glazing enough to get any real air into the room. Car parking around the hotel was difficult.

We were very disppointed and will look for somewhere else next time as we will be going to Gosport frequently.

Thank you for taking time to write your review. It is difficult in a Grade 2* listed building to create extra space to increase the size of bedrooms, likewise to have a large en suite without taking away from an already small bedroom. We will however attempt to do this during the winter months provided the planning department do not make me jump through hoops! Similarly I am not allowed double glazing and I am afraid that the secondary glazing had failed and will now be removed. Your report certainly focused my attention.

Kind Regards

We got married 13th July 2013. We chose the hotel as good location for the venue. Family travelled from all over to stay and for some the lift was much appreciated as some hotels still have stairs only. Clean rooms, friendly staff, amazing food! We used the hotel as caterers for our wedding, even the most critical loved the food! Thankyou to Kev, Jenny and staff x

Thank you for taking the time to write such a glowing report. I am very pleased you mentioned the lift as it took me so long to plan and get installed and to most people they just expect it and probably rightly so. I am very pleased Kevin and Jenny did a good job catering at your wedding.

Kind Regards

We had the night off for a change with children dispatched to an aunt for the night.... the choice was a pub meal or a walk to town for a curry.
The restaurant was bristling with a cheerful birthday party and the bar had free tables but was brisk with food being served and looked very pleasing. We ordered Salmon and watercress tart and butterfried chicken breast topped with cheese and bacon hunter style...
Fabulous... a good choice of beers on tap and pleasant background music with freindly staff and a warm welcome from the owner.
Highly recommended will definately come again.

The staff at this small Georgian hotel were very pleasant and helpful even printing off my ticket for the Isle of Wight ferry and bringing it to my room. Our room was a good size with a comfortable bed . The bedroom and bathroom were very clean apart from mould around the bath. The towels were very clean and fluffy if a little on the small side. It is in a lovely and quiet location overlooking a park . We had a sea view room. The cooked breakfast was good but the rest of the breakfast let the hotel down. The orange juice was warm, you had to make your own tea from a portable urn. There was a poor choice of cereals and the milk was also warm. They should invest in a tray and put some ice in it.

Our daughter was married at the Anglesey last Saturday followed by drinks and canapés in the Crescent Gardens next to the Hotel. We then had a sit down celebration meal for 39 people. The staff (especially Trisha) could not have been more helpful both during the lead up and planning for the day and then on the day itself. We were also blessed by sunshine, but I have no doubt they would have coped had it rained. We would very much have wished to hold the evening function (for 140 people) there as well if the space had allowed it.

Came with my wife for a weekend away from the kids. The hotel couldnt do enough for us. Checked in by a lovely girl who answered all the questions I had. Our room which was an executive double was rather large with views across the Solent. A very comfy bed and a bath/shower. What more could a couple want with no kids around.
We decided to eat out the first night as the restaurat was full up. Had a drink in the bar first though. Man begind the bar very friendly and a pleasure to talk to. Breakfast the next day was served by the same girl who checked us in. Fantastic full English. Again staff were top class. Anything I asked for I got with no fuss. After a pleasurable day we decided to eat at the hotel in the restsurant that evening. Food. Fantastic. Wine. Fantastic. This whole place and the staff. Fantastic. Whoever runs this hotel should be very proud of what they and the staff are achieving. I am in the hospitality business myself and own 2 hotels on the outskirts of London. I know how much hard work it takes to get to the level this hotel is at. WELL DONE
