The submarine museum is great! Very interesting tour of the big sub (HMS Alliance) by an ex-submariner.

There is also a good selection of hands-on stuff for the children - mine really enjoyed playing with the interactive exhibits - there are also periscopes to play with - with views over Portsmouth harbour and beyond...

A good afternoon out - the time disappeared quickly!

This museum is a little out of the way and easy to overlook, but if you make the effort to visit, you won't be disappointed. Firstly, you get to view inside of a submarine as part of a guided tour. Our guide was an ex submariner so very interesting and knowledgeable. When you have finished your tour and asked as many questions as you'd like, there are fascinating museum exhibits with plenty of interesting things to capture the children's imagination. After all that, if you are feeling parched, there is a lovely little on site tea shop serving tea, cake, paninis and hot chocolate with dollops of cream on top. All reasonably priced.

We went as a family of four, our boys are 3 and 6. Both loved the tour and other exibits. A great day out for all of us, the boys also liked the play area. Highly recommend

used tesco vouchers, so a cheap day out, really interesting museum for the grownups and just about enoughto keep the little ones occupied, but the real treat was going inside the real sub on a guided tour, amazing!!

On entry to themuseum the staff were friendly and helpful. The tour of the recently renovated HMS Alliance with an ex serving submariner guide bought the tour to life.
The other submarines & exhibits were fabulous.
Despite close to closing staff at the coffee shop were only to happy to oblige.
Totally recommend a visit.
