“Wanted to stay longer!”
Reviewed April 10, 2011

My husband and I were attending a family birthday party being held at the pub in Icklesham and as our presence was a surprise we needed to stay close at hand. So when we arrived (late, in the dark and after a long drive from North Wales) we were delighted with the location, the welcome and the accommodation which we could not fault. Both Kate and Syd provided helpful, thoughtful and genuine hospitality during our two day stay and when 'the birthday girl' and her hubby stayed after the party they provided birthday confetti and decorations at breakfast which was a lovely touch. This was a wonderful two day stay and we wished we could have stayed longer.

We were only staying one evening but would happily have stayed longer. From the - what I think was home-made - fudge on the tea tray in our room, to the sparkling confetti sprinkled on our table at dinner, to the little packs of Trivial Pursuit-style cards on each dining table to pep up conversation, it's details like this that give Manor Farm Oast the edge over comparable B&Bs. I would recommend dinner there. I mentioned to Kate during booking that I was vegetarian, and she provided a choice of three meat-free main dishes; especially impressive given the fact that we were the only guests eating that evening. Our room was huge and warm, the location superbly peaceful and the atmosphere very chilled. Highly recommended.

I cannot praise Kate and Syd enough for the lovely time we had at Manor Farm Oast. The rooms are in keeping with the style of the building making them homely and comfortable. They were lovely and clean ( I am a cleaning contractor by trade and would notice!) The food was impecable and I highly recomend it, and service was excelent. Both Kate and Syd were very sociable and chatted with us making us feel so very wecome but without being over familiar at any time. In fact we felt they went out of their way to make our stay perfect in every way.
A very big thankyou to Kate and Syd for making our stay with you the end of a perfect day!

An attractive old building set in orchards half a mile from a main road, Manor Farm Oast is a welcoming and very attractive place to stay for a few days to explore Rye, WInchelsea and Romney Marsh. The owners are friendly and welcoming, the room we had was enormous with a large bed (which could be made up as twins), a flat screen TV, and most unusually two very comfortable arm chairs alongside a lavishly equipped tea/coffee tray. The lighting was good too, making reading in the evening easy. The breakfasts were good, with a bigger range of fruit than most large hotels would manage. You can book dinner at the weekend, and that was well worth it. We are very glad we chose this b&b for our weekend break.

Manor Farm Oast is a real find. Kate and Syd really want to make sure that you enjoy your stay. Breakfast utilises local ingrediants, including home made sausages and yoghurt. Packs can be ordered to take home with you!

The room we stayed in was spacious and airy, with two large windows that helped to keep the room cool on very hot couple of days.

It's a really quiet location, amidst orchards, but is a short drive to Rye (or a 1/2 mile walk to a pub offering good food).

We would highly recommend.

My husband and I have a lovely stay here recently, Kate and her husband are very friendly and helpful and the room we had (the rose room I think) was really lovely and sweet. A fab location where you can walk besides the orchards to go to the local pub (The Queens Head) and have a tasty meal, can highly recommend for a nice, relaxed and comfortable stay
