“A perfect Half Term Retreat!”
Reviewed March 10, 2016 for a stay in February 2016

Decided to escape Devon for a half term break with our children, and both Budleigh and Lyndale Cottage proved to be excellent choices irrespective of the time of year and weather.

Communication with the owner beforehand was excellent, gaining entry on arrival was painless, and we were made to feel totally at home from the outset with lots of advice and assistance on places to go and eat. The owners were extremely approachable and helpful throughout our stay.

The accommodation overall is first class. The cottage is extremely well maintained and furnished with a fully provisioned kitchen - perfect if you are keen to do a bit of cooking with the family. The bedrooms are bright and breezy and the beds very comfortable.

As with any stay, it's always the little details that matter - lots of books, DVD's and a good collection of toys on hand. My personal favourite was the enclosed fire - although the central heating is more than up to the task, I quickly became addicted to feeding the fire with logs as there is nothing to beat a nice winter fire in the evening. Luckily the nearby woodshed is also very well stocked!

It's also worth noting that Lyndale is barely a minutes walk from Budleigh high street and the beach is only a couple of minutes more. The town itself is charming and manages to balance being a lovely seaside town without being too brash or over-developed. A lovely place to wander around with plenty of cafes and shops.

If I had but one complaint it was that I let my family zero in on the welcome scones whilst I unloaded the car when we arrived - by the time I finished I'd missed the boat!

“Perfect base for Jurassic coast ”
Reviewed March 9, 2016 for a stay in March 2016

Just spent a wonderful few days at Lyndale cottage. Ideal location for a Devon getaway with beautiful coastal walks, pretty towns and villages with some great shopping and local food nearby. The hosts are incredibly welcoming and provided lots of local recommendations, and the cottage itself is v cosy and really well stocked with everything you need... Including a good book selection for rainy days. Highly recommended.

My family and I spent a lovely few days in Lyndale cottage and would highly recommend. We had everything that we needed and found the cottage warm, well-equipped and ideally located close to the beach. Thank you to our host for such a warm welcome!

Lyndale Cottage was beautifully presented and exceeded our expectations. We could have happily stayed a month or more, and without doubt Budleigh Salterton and Lynedale have been the highlights of our travels so far.

Liked best: Beautifully presented and appointed accommodation.
Liked least: If I were really pushed I would say the lack of an off road parking space, but we had no problems and were well aware at the time of booking.

“Lucky to find such a lovely place”
Reviewed June 9, 2015 for a stay in May 2015

We decided last minute to book a quick get away at the end of half term. Firstly, we were impressed by the helpful replies to our e-mails and the fantastic price. However we were still a little nervous as to what we would actually get. Arriving tired with a grumpy partner and kids the welcoming scones really did set us off on the right foot! But in the main it is the simple well finished annexe that really made our stay worthwhile. Everything we needed and in a great location with very friendly and helpful hosts. We could not have asked for anything more and I would love to go back.

“Lovely and cosy cottage just a few steps from the sea”

We had a fantastic time at Lyndale Cottage. It is such a lovely house - nicely furbished, tastefully decorated and with a small garden that was a perfect den for our two children. Highly recommended!

“The perfect family cottage!”
Reviewed May 6, 2015 for a stay in May 2015

If you dream of a well located, cosy and family-friendly cottage with a warm welcome and personalised attentions, then look no further!

We have spent our May Bank holiday weekend at Lyndale with our 2 boys (3 and 6 years old) and we immediately felt at home.
The cottage is very clean and bright, the beds are comfortable, the kitchen is well furnished and you will discover lots of lovely attentions such as home-made scones, fresh flowers, hand-written notes, toys and books for the children...

All food shops, pub/restaurants and the beach are at less than 5 minutes walking distance from the cottage. The walks alongside the coast (East and West) as well as up the river Otter are spectacular and enjoyable for the whole family.
