Ended up in this pub as our first choice was fully booked on a popular Saturday night. We were a little concerned to find an empty dining room (which later became half full). However, we had found a little gem! Main courses were very substantial and tasty. Our party of four sampled the slow cooked belly pork with lovely mash, gravy and "ace" roast veg, lovely thick cut ham with parsley sauce, gammon steak with all trimmings and home cooked lasagne. We were all delighted with the fare and we are not "easy to please". The bar clientele were friendly and welcoming and there was a lovely ambience. Will certainly be coming back. Starters cost £4.50 to £6, main courses mostly £8 to £12, and desserts £4 to £5.

Stayed in village for a weeks holiday. Pub about 100 yards walk. Always busy so a great atmosphere. Can sit and have a drink or eat in dining room. Quite informal. Great pub food and happy service. Dogs welcome too

We were recommended this pub and we called in for lunch. We just had jacket potatoes, but they were a nice nice, not enormous, well cooked and accompanied by salad and tuna and mayo all separately, not al in a mess, The menu looked very interesting and we would go again.

Very nice little old pub with great service and a good range of menu options including good vegetarian options, and delicious desserts. Quick, friendly service from waitresses and bar staff, and comfortable, traditional decor and atmosphere. Interesting old beams and old photographs. Lots of locals coming to eat and have a drink, but not rowdy types. There is free parking up the lane opposite the pub, only 1 minute walk away.
