I feel a little guilty ahead of writing this, given all the positive reviews. However, I have to speak as I find and say the food I ate at the Tea and Tittle Tattle was on the average side. I ordered liver and bacon, which was over-cooked and accompanying sauce nothing special. This came as a disappointment given the Cafe prides itself on its homecooking. The meal came with Roast Potatoes (an odd accompaniment) and side plate of Veg. The roast potatoes were sweet in flavour, but had been cooked in the deep fat fryer - a cardinal sin for any restaurant. Service was good and the place was packed when we were there. Pricing was fair for a Cafe.

Excellent scones freshly baked served with devon cream and strawberry jam. Tea very good. Overall a very traditional devon cream tea. Staff friendly very efficient and made to feel very welcome. This is great value.

We had Sunday lunch, and it was excellent. Very impressed that local ingredients are sourced, where possible. It was nice to see from a map on the wall where the ingredients had come from.

We also enjoyed the cream teas.

No thrills but lovely food, exactly as it should be.

Serves a brilliant brekky and some delicious homemade cake - never have I tasted such a moist chocolatey chocolate cake! The owner Denise is warm and friendly and her waitress' are charming and energetic. Most welcoming cafe in budleigh and overall a lovely place to go.
