Staying in Budleigh for a week we wanted a couple of good meals out without having to use the car. We were impressed with the menu at the slice of Lyme and gave it a try. We enjoyed our meal and did not hesitate to book to dine there again later in the week. Excellent fresh food beautifully cooked. Good sized portions, friendly staff.

Thank John B

I called for breakfast today with my partner before setting of home after a 5 day break. It is quite a quaint little place, with friendly staff. The breakfast was freshly cooked to order hence the slight wait. However it was well worth waiting for. The food was well presented and beautifully cooked. The bacon and sausage were of excellent quality, and there was plenty of it. All in all, it was an excellent meal, and included tea or coffee and toast for £5.95. I will certainly be going back on my next visit to Budleigh Salterton.

Visited here while away for the weekend. From the outside I have to say it doesn't look great but once you step inside what a different opinion. The restaurant is quaint and cosy but the atmosphere is lovely, very relaxing. We booked a table which was a good move as it was soon full. Our meals were gorgeous and here was a good selection of meals on the menu. Despite there only being one waitress she made sure that no-one was kept waiting and was really pleasant. We had a lovely time and would definitely visit again.

If you want haute cuisine, this is not for you.......... if you want a delicious home cooked type meal, served in a friendly and efficient manner, it is certainly the place to come. I brought my elderly relatives here for lunch. The specials on the board were varied and the three of us all had different choice. The liver and bacon casserole, the chicken breast with marsala cream sauce and the chicken and ham pie, all delicious. All generous portions of mains (5 small helpings of different vegetables plus a choice of potato type) and all delicious. Ditto the desserts of lemon meringue pie (in a veritable moat of cream), mango sorbet and chocolate brownie. This will be the restaurant of choice the next time I take then out for lunch. Parking on the street is limited, but there is a car park next to the motor dealership on the main street through Budleigh centre opposite the end of the (very short) Rolle Street. This is a couple of minutes walk from the entrance to the coast as well as the main street shops. At only 35 pounds for 3 people to have a main, dessert and drink, it was a bargain.

We went here for lunch today and had a lovely meal. The children, aged 7 and 4 were well catered for from simple dishes like beans on toast to usual meals such as beans, chips and sausages. We had plenty to choose from and the puddings are delicious! The restaurant was packed when we arrived at 1pm but we enjoyed a leisurely lunch and the service was great.
