My parents took me here for lunch. I've eaten in many top class restaurants over the years, but that's not what this restaurant is - it's focus is good oldfashioned service with an oldfashioned menu and food prepared well without it being Michelin standard. I loved the little details like the butter curls.
I had the soup to start with (lovely) followed by a perfectly cooked grilled trout with a generous selection of vegetables. The sweet trolley was a blast from the past. The lemon cheesecake was beautiful.
Yes, the decor is stuck in the past, but that was ok. Fresh linen table cloths and napkins. And the service was impeccable and friendly.
I'd defintely go back.
