I stayed here for a weekend retreat with a group of singers. The hotel is set in lovely grounds and has a rural peacefulness to it. The staff were welcoming and helpful throughout even although they were dealing with a wedding as well as our group. The conference room we used was large and light with access to the outside and excellent audio facilities. The swimming pool is large enough to have a proper swim and there is a well equipped gym. The meals were all great. It's buffet style but a good range in the menu. We had to eat sitting on high stools which wasn't the most comfortable experience but there were other tables with proper chairs.

Tucked away down a leafy lane, a good place to stay if you're around North London and want somewhere reasonably priced. I had dinner in the restaurant, which was a hot and cold buffet... I should have ordered a bar meal instead, as the food had dried up a little. Pleasant grounds and bar area. Just like one of the previous reviews don't use the postcode in your SatNav, type in the Hotel name instead.

Booked a couple of weeks in advance for a special rate via Hotels.com (£39 room only) as we were in transit from the North down to the South East coast for the weekend

Despite having sat nav, it wasn't that straight forward locating the hotel (official Devere directions are accurate) but eventually found the place - couple of miles outside of Denham so if you need supplies, best stop at the village on the way to the hotel. However, location (just 10 minutes from M40/M25 was a positive.

Check in was warm and friendly, pointing out that by time of arrival (9.30pm) restaurant was closing but bar snacks available. Room somewhat faded but perfectly adequate, very comfortable bed and pillows, bathroom suffering from fraying edges plus one of those annoying showers that you really have to yank the round rocker switch to put on...and when you do, you get drenched because you can't get out of the way in time :-/

We did go to the bar for aforementioned bar snacks (9.45pm) only to be advised no food available for the rest of the evening so ended up raiding the biscuit cupboard instead.

Breakfast the next morning (£7.50 if ordered night before, £10 if ordered in the morning) was fine with good selection of continental or English buffet breakfast items, again good service throughout.

Despite the hiccups, good place to stay in beautiful tranquil settings (lots of rabbits on the adjoining grounds).

Would stay again if in the area

Dear foxystoat1,

Thank you for sharing your recent experience of De Vere Venues Denham Grove with the TripAdvisor community.

I am sorry to learn that your room was not to the standard you expect – we do run a pro-active maintenance programme at Denham Grove to ensure we keep the property looking at its best. Please accept my apologies that you were unable to dine with us, we do serve food in our Bar Lounge until 9:45pm and I will be speaking with our Food & Beverage Manager and Head Chef to understand why you were not given the chance to order.

I am pleased to hear that despite some issues, you enjoyed your stay on the whole, such as the comfy bed and pillows, friendly welcome by our reception team and also the breakfast and its service. As you rightly point out we do benefit from a good location being so close to the M25 and M40, but are lucky enough to enjoy a peaceful setting surrounded by picturesque parkland.

Thank you again for your review and I do hope you will consider staying with us again in the future.

Kind regards,

Stayed here a night with my boyfriend for a birthday weekend in London and it was a lot better than expected (we're young adults/tennagers)! Cheaper than a travellodge but so much more better! The shower is just like a power shower and the bed was really comfy, one of the best night sleeps I've ever had!
The TV picture quality was a bit blurry but it was fine.
We dinned in the restaurant in the evening and even at 9PM they still had loads to offer! It was a buffet type of 3 course meal and it was lovely. Good value for money, didn't try the breakfast buffet but as we was leaving it looked like the restaurant was busy! Stayed in the bar a while after food and it was so comfy and relaxing, felt really homely.
I only used the gym but my boyrfriend used the pool and they was both amazing and brilliant considering the price! The only downside was that when my boyfriend was in the pool he said that there was ants running around?
There was families and couples of all ages there so I'm guessing it's good for everyone!
We're 100% coming back here! Already planning the trip!

Room Tip: We stayed in room 54 and it was lovely.

Stopped at this hotel, following a day trip to London. Got a taxi there and back to Uxbridge tube, which was about £15 each way. We had a family room, which was very large, although dated. We had to chase travel cot and extra bed linen, on arrival. The bar was fine, although pricey, as per the norm in hotels. We used the swimming pool, which again was fine, although the changing rooms were small. The staff were helpful and pleasant, but the highlight was the superb buffet breakfast - wow!! Overall, recommended, for the price.

OK, many of the reviews of the hotel are poor. I did not see all the same issues. Yes, it is a mature location/buildings, but feel that is part of the experience. If you are looking for a Grand Hyatt, or other fancy property, then this is not your place. I stayed as part of a week long business and found the room, while mine was small by American standards, to be acceptable. (It was not small by my experience in EU cost efficient hotels). Had a weeks worth of clothes, etc and it all fit in closet. Had a small safe in in the closet for valuables. Bathroom floor had a small heated area in front of sink. Did find that the shower, which doesn't have a curtain but a small moveable glass door, resulted in a fair amount of water on the floor. fixable by leaving a towel on the floor. Resturant had nice breakfast buffet, and good selections for lunch and dinner. the grounds are very beautiful and surrounding area are great for a jog. There is a small but adequate gym and pool if the outside doesn't work for you. Overall, good property and good staff. But, if you want Taj Mahal, look elsewhere.

Room Tip: Believe they have different size rooms, ask... for larger room

Dear EricAustin_TX,

Thank you for sharing your stay at Denham Grove on TripAdvisor.

With regards to your comment about the shower screen, we are either purchasing new shower screens, or replacing the shower seal. However, as I am sure you can understand this type of ongoing maintenance programme does take time to reach all areas.

When the English weather is kind to us the grounds are beautiful and so make a nice setting for an early morning jog or walk. I am pleased to hear you found the breakfast varied and with a wide selection of food. It was also pleasant to read you found the staff good, I will ensure this feedback is passed on to them.

Than you again for your review and I hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back to De Vere Venues Denham Grove in the future.
