“Spectacular room!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 28, 2013

An absolute wow experience. I certainly did not expect such a well-furnished, spacious room - even though hotel announces itself as a 4 star property. Very tasteful, and a bathroom to play golf in! One of the best rooms I have ever slept in.
Breakfast was good and healthy and service excellent. By sheer bad luck the coffee maker in the room didn't work.
Internet was fast and thankfully open - no hassle with the password. Will definitely return if I get the same price.

I spent 4 nights here back in November and enjoyed a wonderfully large, comfortable suite. The rooms were well appointed with many large windows. I didn't spend as much time in the room as I would have liked given a busy schedule. The hotel is in the old town with many things to do within walking distance.

The bathroom was large with a separate shower and bathtub. Breakfast was not included in the room rate and was expensive considering it was continental. The one breakfast I had in the restaurant was of high quality, but the remaining mornings I just had coffee and some granola with yoghurt that I purchased from a grocery store.

The service was a bit spotty; several times I had to wait quite a while to speak with someone from the hotel. There didn't seem to be any staff dedicated to the check-in area, so I had to wait and ask people working in the restaurant for help. They also didn't have a map of Wageningen, which would have been very helpful for me.

I was able to rent a bike through the hotel, which is a great way to get around town. I highly recommend it.

My daughter and I stayed at Hotel De Wereld for 2 nights earlier this month. Though the university city of Wageningen (rights acquired in 1263) is not commonly part of tours of The Netherlands, it should be. The area has many interesting sights of great historic importance (the hotel being one of them as the Germans capitulated here on May 5, 1945, ending WWII for The Netherlands) and is surrounded by beautiful riverscapes. Highly recommended are bike rides on the dikes bordering the River Rhine and around the National Park Hoge Veluwe. As for the hotel: most wonderful rooms with all details right, comfortable beds, spacious bathroom. Though there is only choice for breakfast (contintental) and it is Dutch and delicious, every single bite. Great service and staff. All in all a wonderful experience.

After having lived for 12 years in Wageningen I finally had the chance of staying for a night in Hotel de Wereld for a business trip! The crappy Hotel Hof van Wageningen was booked (nothing can beat their location and price/quality/breakfast, but the rooms are like in a prison!) and I managed to find an online offer for Hotel de Wereld for 100 euro per night w/o breakfast. Tip: almost make this w/o breakfast deal since the price is much lower and once you take breakfast it will be (only) 17,50 pp extra.

The welcoming is very professional and correct. The rooms I had was large and very well designed. The coffee machine and some croissants from the bakery in the main shopping street at 5 mins walking were my breaksfast. The bed is excellent, the bath room breathtaking! I enjoyed my stay very much and will definitely return to this hotel! A warning though: there is some sounds/noise from the street. I stayed during week days and I suspect that during the weekend there may be more noise. I have no clue which rooms are the most quite ones. Mine (no. 4) had windows on two sides (square on the one, street on the other).

Very much enjoyed staying several nights on business recently at this hotel. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Old hotel but newly renovated. Best choice of hotels from what I have been told of the other options in town. Breakfast was plentiful and good European food (breads, meat, hard boiled egg, fruit..). Dinner is pricey as this it is a very upscale restaurant. I found better options in town. I stayed in two different rooms, and the size varies greatly. Generally large rooms with some having huge bathrooms and others a bit tight. Overall I would recommend this hotel to others.

I was well looked after her, including one of the best room service meals I have had.
Great mix of the older hotel, but with modern rooms. The coffee maker with fresh beans was a nice touch
Well placed to get about the town
Staff incredibly helpful as well as friendly

I had the opportunity to travel to Wageningen on a business trip and spent two nights at the De Wereld hotel. Great facilities and service. The only aspect that I did not completely like was the food. Too expensive, medium quality. In general, a good place to stay if you are in Wageningen.
