“Why go to Provence when you have Aracena”
Reviewed February 22, 2010

An amazing retreat in the heart of the Andalucian Alps.
Having been wound up tighter than the proverbial in the lead up to my long awaited holiday, this was the perfect prescription.

Time was not of the essence and frankly, nothing in Spain works in real time. That definitely suited me and I was able to unwind in many of the nooks and cranny's at La Casa, daily trek to the Castle ruins, potter around the inner square and enjoy a tinto (or three).

Local delicacies - of course jamon, pastries, tinto's, 'Wrinkly' Juan's, Bar Obra, coupled with the village atmosphere and you certainly have the right ingredients with La Casa being the icing on the cake.

Hostess Melanie ensured you had local knowledge to get where you needed to go, some linguistics to help you through any challenging exchanges, and a flair and passion for food that was an enormous benefit to the waist and of course the taste buds.

La Casa is like an oasis. From the moment you enter through the tiled entry and continue through the salon and other rooms on the lower level, you know you have stepped into a luxurious setting with the right amount of warmth and familiarity.

The upper levels are the guest rooms which are appointed to perfection. The class and charm are blended to boutique proportions, but, still leaving you with the no doubt that you do belong.

Enjoying a spa on a cool evening with a bottle of something special, enjoying tapas in the salon, or a drink down in Bar Obra - just some of the dilema's we had to consider.

I can't wait to return... there are more rooms to try.

You definitely described all the things I love best about living here - so glad you took my advice and took your watch off once you checked in so that you could truly unwind and disconnect.
We will be here with more tapas, more cocktails and dare I say it . . . . caliente leche ha ha ha
Hasta la próxima! Melanie

After the frenetic place of Los Angeles, I am so glad that you were able to give yourselves over to the laid back pace of Southern Spain. It was fabulous to be able to hang out with you guys over tapas and in the bar over a couple of cocktails. Keep in touch! - Foodies forever ha ha ha! Cheers Melanie

It is very rare to arrive at a destination and instantly feel relaxed. The welcome, cleanliness, quality and design of the hotel gives us all a sense of superior luxury not often found in many Casa's in Spain. Everything we asked for was delivered, enough couldn't be done for us regarding exploring and navigating the local area from recommending wonderful restaurants tucked away in the mountains to local events and places of interest to visit. The wonderful comfortable stylish cocktail bar below the hotel also enabled us to meet the "locals" who like the staff are extremely friendly and made us all feel very welcome into their beautiful town which is truly the authentic Spain. We loved being served evening tapas in one of the salons which made the whole experience feel as if you had arrived at your own wonderful manor house where every need is pampered. A perfect place to forget the stresses of everyday life, so wonderfully quiet in the bedrooms which have stunning views, where we could all really just chill out we also thought ideal for a group of friends to book the entire hotel and treat it as a rather beautiful home from home. Breakfast again was a joy sat on the terrace with the views and very good home cooked food and quality table ware, quality we noticed throughout the Casa. The Hot tub was great fun, private and secluded. There was nothing I could complain about!

Thank you so much for your detailed and glowing description of your time here in Aracena. I appreciate that we are getting close to what we are aiming for - a home away from home - just with much better service! I am sure that your taking the time share your experience helps other fellow travellers to decide to try something out of the ordinary hotel accommodations that are offered.
Safe travels! Melanie

La Casa Noble is a large village house with views a step away from the main square of Aracena. It is a comfortable 90 min drive from Seville and a perfect base from which to drive the white villages of this part of Andalucia. If you can afford a short stay here you will not be disappointed for the host, Melanie, spares no effort to maximise your Spanish experience through her extensive knowledge of tourist activites, dining and local cultural attractions. The suites here are luxurious in space and design - mega-sized beds big enough to share with an aquaintance- and the house itself full of interest and unexpected extras like the cellar bar, hot spa pool, cozy terraces, TV room and a library. Tariff includes breakfast ( how could I forget Melanie's Los Angeles style French Toast dripping with Maple Syrup and crispy bacon) in different locations like outdoors on the top terrace with views of the castle or in the gracious formal early 20th century dining room and also Tapas and wine early evening when you get a chance to meet other guests. At Melanie's suggestion, abandon you wristwatch go on Spanish time and let her organize your life for a true taste of luxury in rural Spain. This house is magic!! If Spanish style fascinates you - you've got to see this.

My partner and I drove down from Madrid for a 3 day stay during our 2 weeks in Spain. This turned out to be the best part of our entire vacation. The building and restoration work are spectacular. The sumptuous bathrooms were so romantic. The beds were the most comfortable of any hotel we stayed in. Our hostess was amazing. She knew exactly what we were into and brought us to some of the most beautiful natural sights during our entire tour. The food spots she chose were truly among the best in Andalucia. The whole trip was just amazing.

I stayed in La Casa Noble for three days over the easter break. I have never been anywhere as beautiful as this special B&B. The interior is a work of art and the relaxing outdoor spaces make for an amazingly relaxing and luxuriant stay. At easter time this little town comes alive and we tried to partake in as many of the festivities as possible including a few nights sipping cocktails and chatting to the locals in the stylish bar next to the B&B- La Obra. There were many highlights to our trip inclucing: great food- the amazing iberian jamon is something everyone should experience once in their lives, the religious ceremonies with all their colour and loud music and great hospitality from the hostess with the mostess Melanie at La Casa Noble.
Also I have to add that I was simply blown away by the bedroom I stayed in 'Castillo' not only for the huge bathroom and incredible view over the town but for the massive bed. I am 6ft2in and I dont think I have ever slept in anything like this bed, it has made up for all those years of lost sleep... I have to go back to La Casa Noble not for just a great time but for my health.
Please take the time to go to this amazing B&B I garauntee you it will be the highlight of your trip to Andalucia and indeed an experience of a life time... you wont want to leave.
