We ordered a table for the evening and they asked us if we prefere smoking or not smoking, we were surprised because most of the restaurants in Romania aloow smoking.
We had a table in the non smoking room and we were glad for that.
They had a group which played traditionl music and made a very good atmosphere.
The food was delicious and not expensive.

Loved the restaurant the moment we arrived. It has very festive decorations in its garden and most importantly, an interesting basement where they keep the traditional Romanian muraturi (various vegetables dipped in salty water or vinegar). The food was excellent, we had the famous fried chicken and also grilled bear meat. The food were served along with a big commotion of waiters lining up and carrying dishes on silver plates and small fire (seems to me perhaps this is how meals are served to the Royal family in ancient times). And to top it all off, a group of musician playing traditional Romanian music from table-to-table made our dinner experience even more authentic. The only problem is probably that the waiters don't really speak English (though not a big issue for me, as I'm accompanied by Romanians).

If you are visiting Poiana Brasovului and you want an extraordinary food and service, dont hesitate to go to Coliba Haiducilor. The stuff is very single second at your service and the food is specific romanian. Dont forget to try some homemaking wine and of course traditional "palinca".

First of all this restaurant looks great. It displays numerous articles of folklore art, and is situated on a green hill surrounded by beautiful forest.
Then there is the food. Best Romanian food I ever ate. Sarmale with Mamaliga. Drob of sheep. Chiorba soup. Even the bread is fresh and home made.
I would definitely visit this restaurant again.
The kids also very much enjoyed running around this very large restaurant.
