If you're looking for true Alentejo food, superbly cooked and served in a typical environment, then this is the restaurant for you. João, the owner, is very helpful and keen to give you some suggestions on the menu. And talking about the food... it's excellent, mouthwatering, the best typical food you can ask for. Everything is great, from the starters (the cheeses are insanely good!), the main courses (I reccommend the smooth hound soup and the baked spare rib with red wine and honey sauce) and don't get me started on the desserts... Anything will order is guarenteed to satisfy your sweet tooth, but I specially reccommend the delicious bacon cake.
And let's not forget the great wines of this region, specially the reds... Overall, you're in for a delicious treat at A Moagem.

All the restaurants in Arraiolos are expensive, but we found this one lacking in atmosphere and food just average. For the price we'd expected a little more.

Although the staff could not speak English and all 25 of us could not speak Portuguese, we managed to have a lovely meal at this very authentic Alentejo restaurant. The staff were very patient and helpful and the food delicious. I recommend the black pig!

It is a small and typical Alentejo restaurant. A small room with tiny windows to the exterior, glazed tiles in the walls and wodden chairs and tables.
The food is good, with typical regional dishes to be eaten with the local wines.
The entries are one of the highlights as well as the cação (fish) dishes or game meat.

Very good wine selection from the region, friendly reception at arrive.
The food is typical from Alentejo, and is really good and different from the standard.
For desert, good selection of traditional deserts, and why not try some old "aguardente".
