If you are looking for an excellent wine cellar, you find it at Park. When it comes to the restaurant, Elysèe, it´s a total different game. The four course meal was something close to a disaster. The first dish, asparagus with ham was something out of a first year high school cooking class. Scollops with caviar were perfectly cooked, but drowned in a greasy sauce. The lamb was chewy and and boring, low on all kinds of spices and herbs. The dessert, a perfectly prepared Cremé Brulle, was topped with a spoonful of ice! Why???
Service was amateurish (except from the sommelier) and made me believe that I was on Candid Camera or something. Why don´t waiters talk together? Leaving us order white wine after being served the scollops really is an act of crime!
When a meal sets me back 3.000 NOK, I expect to be treated as a welcome guest. That didn´t happen at Elysèe!
