To step foot into the charming medieval village of Asolo is to step back in time. But never fear. All modern comforts and concerns are catered for at the marvellous Albergo Al Sole. From the moment we arrived we felt welcome. Friendly smiling faces at the front desk and a pleasant lounge area to sit and relax in the foyer. A fireplace would no doubt offer warmth on a winter's day. But we arrived in May, with gardens full of bloom and just enough warmth in the air to encourage walks and exploring in the area. There is a great deal to see.
Our room overlooked a splendid villa, now apartments with a beautiful garden. From the hotel's first floor terrace we enjoyed pre-dinner drinks or afternoon tea and a wonderful view of the town. Cobblestones, excellent restaurants, quaint shopping lanes and a lovely walk up behind the hotel to a ruined castle with panoramic views await your stay in Asolo.
Our dinners at the hotel restaurant, La Terrazza, were outstanding and the wines superb. Service and food very, very good. The bar offers all you could ask for and the breakfast spread very good also.
Apart from our room, with excellent bathroom and storage it was the ambience of the hotel that really made our stay a pleasure. Must not forget the lovely touch of flowers in unexpected places.More
