Reviewed August 5, 2014

We had a week long stay in this lovely, old hotel. Our room was fairly small but had a large bed and everything we needed. The view was a treat to wake up to! The staff couldn't do enough for us. Breakfast was varied and plentiful, Dinner was different every day and consisted of local delicacies and accompanied by local red and white wine. The old town of Trevi is well worth exploring with lots of hidden gems. The small square in front of the hotel a perfect setting for pre and after dinner drinks. We will go back!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view.

Our stay in Trevi was wonderful. We loved our time in Antica Dimora alla Rocca, although it was short. The hotel is old, but remodeled inside and quite comfortable... by far the best hotel in Trevi.

Trevi is a beautiful, historic town. Part of its charm is that it is often overlooked by the tourist, so there is good chance you may be the only one in town during your visit.

We would recommend this spot in a heartbeat - just be sure to drive or arrange a taxi. If not, be prepared to walk quite a bit to the top of Trevi (it's a serious hike)!!

Room Tip: Some rooms have nice views, while others are spacier. Some rooms are both spacious and boast good vi...

I've just returned from a week-long tour of Umbria and was based at this lovely small hotel, which is enthusiastically run by a young management team.
My room was a reasonable size and had a compact bathroom (only large enough for one person). Happily, the bed was very comfortable and the air conditioning was quiet.
Breakfast was basically the same every day, but there was plenty of choice - continental meats and cheeses, bacon, egg and sausage, pate, breads, fruit and many choices of cake.
Dinner was different each day and consisted of four courses of local dishes and these were accompanied by matching wines. It was refreshing to have dinner served and not to have to scramble at a buffet. There were tables and chairs set out in the tiny piazza in front of the hotel, which made a perfect place for aperitifs. The bar prices were very reasonable.
All in all it was a very enjoyable stay in a lovely hotel situated in a delightful village. I shall be returning.

Our family recently went on a 9 day tour thru Italy staying in 6 different 4 star hotels. We then wanted the beauty of the green heart of Italy, Umbria, we chose this beautiful hotel, also 4 star but should definitely be rated 5, We were completely amazed by this magnificent piece of history.
The rooms were (we needed two) clean and large enough for our family of 5, the breakfast was perfect, a bit of everything including my favorite, cappuccino!
The management and staff friendly and so unlike other hotels we had just recently experienced.
I witnessed first hand as the management welcomed a tour from England and was envious since our other hotels weren't as hospitable...
Valentina and her associates made me feel like family, I would recommend this hotel to anyone searching for a unique, hospitable and air conditioned hotel.
Can't wait to return again!

I so want to give this place a good review - it has many good points - position-staff-rooms to a point-nice feel in public areas although dark. But also bad points - the food for our party was not of a good enough quality - the rooms although nicely put together and look good to the eye however everyone complained of no where to unpack other than a wardrobe. There were no draws or storage space. This was also the case for the bathrooms. Nowhere to put your bits and pieces - quite unusual. There is no outside eating space other than the front of the hotel. Our meals were served in the basement area in what was a vaulted ceiling olive press room with no windows. It was clean and bright but no atmosphere and noisy when everyone is drinking and talking!!! They also seemed to be a bit short staffed at times. It may be that the new young management need a bit more time to smooth things out. With average food and no outside eating I would stay again but eat out in the local square a few minutes away. Breakfast was a typical selection of meats and cheese, breads and fruit etc. but again served in the basement.

Room Tip: As others have said the better rooms are in the annex which is a few yards from the hotel. I would a...

Of the 2 groups staying at the hotel during that week, 50 people in total, this is the only negative review we have received.
We are very proud of our hotel and always seek to offer an excellent service. The fact that the building is historical obviously means that we are limited in what pieces of furniture we place in the rooms, each room has a wardrobe with shelf which is usually suffice.
We were very surprised by your reference to the front of the hotel. Most guests find this quaint little square, http://www.tripadvisor.it/ShowUserReviews-g616200-d289762-r211336563-Antica_Dimora_alla_Rocca-Trevi_Province_of_Perugia_Umbria.html#LIGHTBOXVIEW, a very delightful spot to have an aperitif, snack or indeed lunch or dinner. The internal restaurant is also quaintly unusual, how many people get to eat in an old olive mill? We receive many compliments for the quality of the food and also for the many dishes offered, for example, the Prosciutto di Norcia freshly cut from the joint in front of guests, the local truffles, not forgetting that everything is cooked with and/or dressed with the exceptional DOP Trevi Extra Virgin Olive Oil and that each evening a different local wine is offered to guests to introduce them to as many local products as possible during their stay.
We hope to welcome you again in the future.
Kindest regards
Valentina

This hotel is a real treat. The building is beautiful and historic, the staff is warm, friendly, and thoughtful. There is a lovely terrace for coffee or drinks, the breakfast is plentiful. My only small suggestion would be that they post the daily menu for the restaurant in advance. Otherwise, this place is perfect! Trevi is also a lovely town and a good base for sightseeing in Umbria. Thanks to Valentina and all the staff.
