we have decided to get married at Meleto Castle after visit a lot of places in the beautiful Tuscan country side... but Meleto has been definitely the best choice we could do. The stunning surroundings of Chianti, the incredible medieval structure of the castle and awesome inner rooms and saloons... have undoubtedly been the perfect background of our special day.
Furthermore, Meleto Castle reception offer has been a valuable support for our exigences: long term stay (4 days or plus) for us and our parents – in a beautiful independent small house – and short term (one night) -in the caste and canonica - for our friends… for most of them had been an unique experience: sleeping in a castle!! And the day after we enjoyed all together the breakfast, the amazing infinity pool and wine tasting… a never ending party!
the staff has been always present, available and very warm with the stressed couple (!) and service and room were perfect...so we will come back to renovate year after year this unique emotion!

We had a fantastic relaxing time at the Castle, this is beautiful and picturesque place, we would certainly go back, and recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet and relaxing atmosphere with outstanding views. However, It would have been nice to have a restaurant and maybe a small bar and lounge area to gather with friends on an evening. The staff and service was very good, especially our wedding planner Katia.
Air conditioning would have been a bonus.

Room Tip: Choose a villa instead of the Canonica they have better views and you have an area to sit out

We booked several apartments this summer for a vacation with 20 friends.

The pros:
- Chianti
- lovely views

The cons:
- the management is inefficient and unprofessional, they tend to do mistakes during reservations and they tried to charge several of my friends multiple times.
- the property is not very well managed, rooms are not super clean (we had towels with black/brown spots in our apartment)
- the pools need some cleaning too

The place has potential, but we recommend to be careful during the reservation process (double check the figures on your bill before you check out).

Also, for some inexplicable reason, they tend to keep the IDs of guests to photocopy them (instead of photocopying them on the spot and giving them back to you as they do in other hotels). In some cases they kept documents for multiple days. This may create major problems, example: the concierge opens only at 8:30am (it is not a 24/7 service), if you need to leave early to catch a flight and the concierge still has your documents and it is still closed you might end up losing your flight ... as it happened to one of us.

Gentile Signora Marta,

L'aspettiamo!

We spent just over a week in Meleto with friends and family for our wedding. The castle is a fantastic venue for a family holiday, a getaway with friends or a wedding. It has stunning views of the surrounding countryside which are hard to beat - we can't wait to go back! We stayed in one of self-catering apartments in the grounds (Terrazze 2) for the duration of our stay. We had access to the pool near the castle and our apartment had air-conditioning, a must in the summer months. Our families stayed in various rooms around the grounds - with one large group staying at Casanuova, the large Villa up on the hill. This turned out to be a masterstroke - the group included 9 children and the villa gave them an extra degree of privacy. All the kids could be together in their own private area with a pool without disturbing the other guests. We had some wonderful lunches in the castle's wine shop - they served lovely salads, cold meats and pasta dishes. Of course we also sampled the castle's magnificent wines. My personal favourite was the Toscana but it was a tough choice - the sparkling rose was another crowd pleaser! The olive oil is also absolutely beautiful, with a very distinct taste and many of our friends bought bottles to take home.

Our wedding was planned in detail by Katia, the castle's superb resident wedding planner. We are English/Irish and live in the Middle East so the planning of the wedding had the potential to be something of a nightmare. We met a couple of independent wedding planners but were instantly impressed with Katia who is dedicated, enthusiastic, organised and has fluent English. Being based at the castle, she has the added benefit of knowing the venue inside-out as well as all the local suppliers and authorities - an invaluable level of expertise.

Everyone who came to our wedding commented on the spectacular setting. For us it was an unforgettable experience.

Room Tip: Room with air-conditioning.

We were married in Siena in June this year and held our reception at Meleto. We took all of our family and friends out for the week before and filled the castle and the villa of the hill.

The venue, a well preserved 13th century castle, is beautiful with unrivalled views over the Tuscan countryside. The rooms are large and simple and well modernised for any families looking for a self catering stay. There are plenty of outdoor areas to enjoy al fresco dining.

There are two swimming pools one at the main castle overlooking the hills and the vineyards and the other at the top of the hill by the villa overlooking the castle. Both are infinity pools, and we've never been in a pool with such amazing views! Great for photo taking.

The castle is a perfect venue for a wedding with multiple lawns and rooms to entertain. Katia, our wedding planner, is the most efficient and organised person we have ever meet and made planning a wedding abroad very painless- we highly recommend taking her (optional) services as she handles all the stress for you. She was very flexible and worked with sll of our requests. Very few wedding venues in the area offer a dedicated wedding planner in addition and we found it very advantageous for our planner to actually work for the castle- rather than use an independent wedding planner which is common when marrying abroad.

In terms of cost the accommodation is very good value for the area (in the heart of chianti). The wedding costs are much cheaper than in the UK and rival anything nearby.

Overall everyone at the wedding had a wonderful time and we will definitely be returning for more holidays in the future.

We spent three glorious days here in the midst of a Tuscan summer. We we're looking for an elegant, comfortable getaway in the heart of Tuscan wine country, and the Castello delivers that in buckets!

The highlight of the castle is the infinity pool, overlooking the countryside and offering a welcome break from the heat.

I highly recommend this as a wonderful getaway.
