“The ideal Tuscan villa”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 28, 2013

My wife and I and two friends stayed here the third week of September, 2013. It could not have been more perfect!

Enzo, Max, and Duccio were the perfect hosts. They had everything arranged when we arrived. Check in was fast and professional. They made some great recommendations of places to visit and eat.

Now for the villa -- It was absolutely perfect. We rented the three bedroom suite and it was large enough for three couples easily. The kitchen was well appointed and there were two spacious sitting rooms; one on each floor. The outside areas were great for drinking local wines and watching the world go by. Overall the villa was spotless.

I cannot say enough good things about this villa. We will definitely visit again.

Room Tip: Rent the second floor suite with three bedrooms.

Our family had a a most enjoyable stay at the Lucignano Secondo villa! We were warmly welcomed by Enzo, Max, and Duccio when we arrived and they had many suggestions of places to visit in the area as well as good maps and directions. The villa was very clean, charming, and private with many lovely views. We enjoyed a cooking class at the villa that was fun, instructive, and interactive with delicious food and wine! We especially enjoyed the family friendly menu and recipes. We will readily recommend the villa to our friends, and have already recommended it to two groups of visitors we met in Italy.

We loved this spacious villa, and the hosts were absolutely wonderful! We were able to take a cooking class from them, and it was much better than a cooking class at a local castle! The instruction was wonderful and hands on, and the taste of the food was out of this world!

Simply an amazing experience! Upon arriving at this villa we were wonderfully greeted by Max & Duccio who presented the property with exquisite detail. Everything about our stay was sensational. The home itself was spotlessly clean and fitted out with everything one needs to enjoy their stay. Max not only took time to take us through the villa and point out all the features he then passionately explained all the local attractions.
The accommodation was perfect. Large comfortable bedrooms, fully stocked kitchens & the living areas were exactly what you need when relaxing during a Tuscan holiday. The gardens were excellently maintained and as we walked around the property it was so nice to be greeted by the occasional smell of sweet lavender. Only a short drive into Siena, the agriturismo is ideally positioned away from the local hustle and bustle. The cooking class, which was hosted by Enzo, Max & Duccio at the villa, was prepared with love and attention to detail. The food and wine chosen, was classically Tuscan and we enjoyed a very special evening together with our hosts. Enzo and the boys were always available and made our experience even richer than we had imagined. Our group was made up of 6 adults and 6 children and we still had plenty of space to relax at this 5 star villa. Our week long stay at this summer getaway is something we will treasure forever. We plan to stay longer next time!

Had a lovely stay at the villa. The villa has stunning views of vineyards and olive groves of the Chianti hills. Spacious accommodation and fantastic service! The owners were very helpful with information about the area. The house is very clean and well equipped an we would definitely recommend it to anyone.

After much reseach our group of four deciced on Podere Lucignano Secondo Agritutismo. We had the large three bedroom section of this building. The physical location is excellent, the furnishings are wonderful, the grounds are beautiful, the family ownership and management is competent, accomodating, and fair. Of couse we had a rental car and had come doen form Lake Como. This villa is a great base of operations to visit many of the sights around, all within driving distance. Or just spend quiet nights and days at the villa. What a wonderful experience to book this villa and create great memories.

Staying in this villa was like getting to live in a fairytale. Between the beautiful accommodations, perfect location, and warm-hearted hosts it is a lovely piece of heaven on earth.

Location: Perfect location for exploring Tuscany. We chose to visit a region each day and picked: Chianti, San Gimignano/Siena, Pienza, and Cortona. Each one was slightly different and full of life and culture! You will definitely need a rental car as the villa is in a lovely secluded area with limited public transportation options. I can't imagine seeing Tuscany anyway without a rental car. There is a small market within a 5 minute drive to a local village, but it has very limited selection of goods. We enjoyed the coop in siena, about a 20 minute drive away. It had a great selection of fresh produce as well as meat and fish and anything else you might need! The villa is surrounded by vineyards and land and it is just peace at its best. So relaxing and refreshing and the air smelled extra sweet here.

Accommodation: The villa is absolutely pristine. From the magnificent design/decoration to the well-maintained grounds, to the soft, comfy beds it was at least the high quality of a 5 star hotel! We slept like babies and woke up refreshed every single day. We had 4 adults and 2 children (ages 9 & 11) and there was more than enough room for us all to have our own space. Also, there is a gorgeous sitting room downstairs that we used every day and some of my favorite memories are of us sitting on the patio at sunset with a nice bottle of red and surrounded by italian nature at its finest!

Staff: Enzo and his boys are a treat to work with. They are friendly, professional, and want to go above and beyond to help you out in any way. They were raking leaves the first evening that we were there and my son asked to help. They got him a rake and let him help. I think that is his favorite memory of Italy! :) They are so warm-hearted and full of life and love.

I would definitely stay here again in a second and have no reservations at all to fully recommend this property. It will be the experience of a lifetime, enjoy to the fullest!
