Fantastic riding centre in the heart of Tuscany. I booked the dressage package for the week and was not disappointed - in fact one week turned out to be not enough! Lessons taught in English and Italian (if you speak it - I didn't) and the horses were lovely and very obviously well looked after.

Standout after the riding was the food! Fantastic breakfast and lunch, but dinner was the highlight. The pasta dishes were superb.

It was the hottest week in 100 years in the region but guests were comfortable with in-room air-conditioning and a pool on the premises.

Highly recommend for those looking for a horsey holiday - I will be returning!

Room tip: Wifi only available in the common areas but was a good speed.

My wife and I returned last month from the United States for our 3rd vacation at Il Paretaio. The setting in the Tuscan hills, the accommodations and food are all SUPERB, but it is the amazing horses and "centered riding" instruction that keeps everyone coming back to Paretaio again and again. It is definitely our FAVORITE vacation spot in the world.

There is no summer holiday without a riding holiday at Il Paretaio! You feel like at home and you can enjoy riding twice a day, and the wonderful food and scenery around. Easy to drive from e.g. Florence or Pisa. Staying at the farm is very homely and relaxing. The dinner in the evening is highlight of the day (together with the riding of course), and you meet people from all around the world. If you don't ride you can hang at the pool and watch the classes.

This beautiful B and B in the hills of Tuscany is a perfect place to enjoy Tuscan cuisine and some of the best riding instruction there is. My week long holiday also included Yoga for riders by the pool and riding lessons each day with the exceptional horses at Il Paretaio. No big group classes just very personal instruction. Christina, Gianni, and son Pietro as well as the rest of the staff create a warm welcome with Prosecco and appetizers in the garden to begin your stay. The lessons are amazing and suited for beginners as well as the highly experienced rider. Side trips to Siena, San Gimignano, Certaldo, Florence are easy by car. Don't forget the GPS. You can also do wine tasting at a nearby farmhouse and pasta lessons from their chef Gabriella. She is amazing. You will enjoy 4 courses each night, communal dining and a plentiful breakfast.
I will be back for sure.

Just returned from a weeklong yoga and horseback riding retreat, arranged by a yoga instructor/horseback rider and Il Paretaio. The yoga portion of the program (one morning session, one evening session) was geared towards the rider - stretching and opening to improve breath and balance. All of which complimented the excellent riding instruction provided by Cristina, Giovanni, Pietro and staff. The days were well paced, with enough time allowed to relax by the pool, sightsee, etc. Il Paretaio is lovely - rustic, clean, simple. The food is plentiful and delicious and the family style eating makes for a wonderful communal experience. The staff couldn't have been nicer . . .Will definitely return and will surely recommend to fellow riders.

Room tip: Wifi is only available in common rooms.
