La Chiara di Prumiano

It’s May, everything is blossoming, and the place is breathtaking…beautiful place, beautiful people!
Don’t miss out on Peter’s tea-room experience (and a game chess, why not?).
Great place for a quiet romantic getaway or an active family holiday (horse riding, swimming, cycling, hiking); excellent location for workshops/big groups.
We’ll be back!

This is the perfect place to have as a base for exploring Florence and the surrounding countryside. Peaceful, beautiful, with inspiring Tuscan vistas on every side -- already an ideal place, but the unbelievably delicious meals we were served made the savoring as memorable as the viewing. Highly recommended.

I loved staying here so much I actually keep a post-card on my desk as an invitation to dream and remember to live louder every day! It was beautiful waking up to the grounds every morning and having Tuscan sun and hills right in front of us. The history of the property was also really impressive and I absolutely relished little treasures such as the chapel. The staff only added to the experience and made us (a very big group) feel right at home and comfortable. I even managed to fall in love with Luna, a gorgeous golden retriever (and I'm not even a dog person:) In thinking about the magic of my stay, I honestly am willing to believe it was something in the water, more like the gourmet soup--Rosanna is an accomplished chef sure to surprise and impress even snobby NYC foodies like me. If you're thinking of Tuscany and a villa sounds intriguing, you'd commit a crime against yourself not to stay here!

I initially heard about La Chiara di Prumiano from a friend and after speaking with Alfredo, the amazingly kind man who bent over backwards to constantly work with me on tweaks and changes, I knew this was the place for my company to hold a conference. We spent a week with them in June of 2010 and again in May of 2011 and if it was possible, I would never leave! The place is as beautiful as it appears and the rooms are spacious and give you the feeling you are in another period of time, perhaps a royal Italian summer home. We were given helpful tips and assistance organizing rides and they were always willing to help us work out last-minute tweaks to our itinerary!

While the entire stay was wonderful, the highlight is absolutely the food. Rosanna, in charge of all lunch and dinner preparations is exceptional. Our conference includes people from various countries around the world but in 2011, we had an Italian from Rome with us and to hear her state that this was some of the best Italian food she'd ever had affirmed our belief that her meals alone are worth the experience! I highly recommend La Chiara di Prumiano and hope to be back in the near future for another wonderful week!

Room Tip: Ask for the room where royalty slept! Upstairs to the left, it even has a little balcony!
