“Typical Tuscan”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 1, 2014

Vico Furbo is a very nice and reasonably prices place, with typical tuscan food.
Great to have a table in front of the restaurant, sitting virtually on the street of the city.
Vico Furbo is always an item on our agenda when visiting Tuscany.....

“Excellent Casual Family (Italian) Dining”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 9, 2014

This is a good solid choice and a great example of a Tuscan country-side restaurant: located in an interesting little square, in a small hilltop town (parking around), with great interior décor, with nice friendly service. The much mentioned buffet for Antipasti is a great opportunity to try many different antipasti (and a quick way to feed hungry stomachs - 8 Euros each). Although I do not believe in "bests", several of us felt the pizza was the best we have had (versus Naples, Rome, and Florence). The wine list is a good selection of local regional wines. - Too much food, so no desserts for us. Very good prices/value. (Indoor seating only)

“Incredible appetizer buffet”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 22, 2013

First of all... this restaurant is actually in Vico d'Elsa. It's about 6 km SW of Barberino so be warned.

We arrived around 19:40 and the place was empty. We were taken to a table in the back and I asked if we could have another table. The hostess said that all the tables were reserved (Funny that people reserve specific tables). Anyway the hostess suggested the appetizer buffet for starters (E8 for one pass). Well folks that's all you need at this eatery. I'm sure there were 20 different items, mostly vegetable items prepared in a variety of ways. Delicious and so varied. We had also ordered pizzas but honestly I would have been happy with just the appetizers. The pizzas were pretty good but not among the top 3 I've had in Italy. For the 3 appetizer plates, two pizzas, 2 beers, 1/2 liter of wine, three coffees we paid E62. A bargain in Chianti country...

“Great hosts, lovely ambience and yummy food!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 19, 2013

Vico Furbo boast three advantages...one is that it sits slightly off the beaten tourist track in a little town called Vico d'Elsa, just a few kilometers from crowded San Gimignano. They have easy and free parking and both the restaurant and the food are super. Try the antipasti buffet, fresh and delicious!

“great find!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 6, 2012

We stumbled upon this restaurant while trying to find another restaurant that had been recommended. It was an incredible find! The antipasto buffet was amazing - it was all so delicious! And the pizzas were divine! We tried to go back a few nights later, but they were closed for some reason (I couldn't translate the sign on the door). We loved this restaurant! The service was quite good as well, even though I took more antipasto than was probably polite (we hadn't eaten all day!).
