This is a place you MUST visit. Filipo and his staff will do their absolute best to make you feel at home and show you around. The farm is like taken from the movies - hidden between endless vine yards and only accessible by a small country road, it's like you are vising the country house of an esteemed Sicilian noble.

Everything that you eat and drink would have been made there, is organic and it tastes like Heaven itself.

Thank you, Filipo and company, for the best day trip in Sicily!

I chose this location for our family holiday because of the good reviews....and they were all true.
Beautiful location, clean and spacious rooms and excellent service from Filippo and his staff. They were all very friendly and ready to explain and guide us to Sicily's best locations. Be sure not to miss the lovely meals prepared by Rino; authentic sicilian fare all freshly made including the delicious liquers. I cannot forget to mention the lovely wine produced here which is a perfect accompaniment to every meal.
If you prefer to drive through main roads and avoid the country roads which may be a bit bumpy, set your GPS to Madonna del Reposo str., in Alcamo. From there on its one winding road through the open country and the turning to the Agriturismo is very well signposted.
The views around this place are breathtaking and it is also well placed to explore a good many lovely locations in Sicily.

I can't express enough how much I enjoyed my day at Agriturismo Tarantola. Fillipo and his excellent staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome and certainly gave us a good time. My most memorable moment was in the kitchen with Rino who showed us how to make delicious Sicilian quisine, while Fillipo introduced us to his wine and limoncello - which was amazing. There was no shortage of food and drink, all of which was absolutely superb. You couldn't help but join in with the cooking as Rino was very insistant that we take part in the preparation of the five course meal that was going to be our lunch. I just loved him!!! All the staff were so friendly and more than happy for my husband and I to take over in the kitchen.
Fillipo - the owner - is a very charming and hospitable person. He greeted us like he'd known us for years. I only wish we had known about his farm beforehand as I would have loved to have stayed there overnight.
Thank you Fillipo for a memorable day of fun, cooking the Sicilian way, eating delicious home made food, tasting your wonderful wines and making us feel so special. It was a pleasure to know you all and I would return in a heart beat! Hopefully next time our visit will be longer and we can try out one of your rooms.

Fillipo and his team were nothing short of amazing. They took the time to explain every drink (wine, limoncello, and two other delicious spirits made from the farm) and every dish (a total 5-course feast, most of which is sourced from the organic farm).

The farm itself is beautiful, and rooms are spacious and quiet; you can stargaze all evening...

Only minor downside is that it took us a while to find, but once you do, it is completely worth it and a great base to explore the West and Centre of Sicily from.

We stayed for 5 days at Contrada Tarantola and had a great time. The staff are exceptionally friendly and caring, making you feel special and showing pride in their delicious cuisine and wine. Filippo the owner was especially lovely, taking time to talk to all the guests and he gave us invaluable advice on what to see and how to get there. He also went out of his way to help us when we had a spot of trouble very late at night. The estate is extremely pleasant with beautiful grounds and scenery as far as the eye can see. The colours in the evening are gorgeous if you are a keen photographer, and the location is great for visiting major sights within easy reach such as Selinunte, Erice, Palermo, Monreale, Segeste and many more. I would definitely recommend staying here, you couldn't wish for nicer people - real Sicilian hospitality at its best. We would definitely come back to this agriturismo when we next visit this part of Sicily. All the food is organic and produced on the farm and the evening meal consists of 5 courses of typical Sicilian dishes where you can drink the delicious wine Filippo produces on his estate. If you are looking for an authentic and memorable holiday, this is the place to be.
A la prossima volta!

Agriturismo Tarantola was definitively our best remembrance of our first travel in Sicily. The place is beautiful, relaxing, quiet, natural, among the winery, plenty of birds and beautiful vegetation.
The food freshly made everyday by Rino was sincerely very good (pasta, involtini, zucchini, dry tomatoes, limoncello, etc...typical and very mediterranean) and made with ingredients coming from the garden.
The wine is good and the disponibility of the personel (Filippo, Guiseppe, Faustino and Rino) was very appreciable. Filippo can give very good advice notably for visiting the Region (Alcamo, Castellamare, Alcamo marina and the beautifu beaches of the gulf, Scoppello, natural reserve of Zingaro, San Vito lo capo, Erice, Trappani, Segesta and the temple,etc...). If you want to exchange with sicilian people about the life in sicily they will be be delighted to discuss with you and teach you a lot about Sicily (Filippo speaks well english). Rino knows a lot of things and Faustino can teach you how he works in the winery (in italian). The breakfast was very good on the terrace under the palmtree with plenty of bird songs. This place is commendable for a family, a couple or any persons looking for authentic sicilian life and agriculture. Agriturism is a great concept very well assimilated by Tarantola. Beautiful remembrance. We were really sad to leave and definitively want to come back as soon as possible. The personnel were very very nice people.
PS: you can walk around the winery, the oliver grove and discover the different grape variety of the domain notably the Nero d'avola typical from sicily and that I recommend to taste for people that appreciate wine.

A stroll up the hill through the vineyard at Tarantola is a startlingly beautiful and tranquil experience. This place, with its ample kitchen garden and rolling winefields, coupled with enthusiastically prepared organic meals allows time to stop for awhile as you take in the opportunity to sit back and savour the peace and quiet. Our 7 year old daughter was delighted to help pick vegetables and participate in the cooking class. The shaded tiled sitting area is conducive to quiet relaxation and reading. This is a place to calm down and set yourself to another pace. Our stay was too short and we just wished for more.
The room was clean and comfortable with very thick walls and solid doors and layered windows for keeping in the cool while letting in light when wanted.
The food was excellent. Rino the cook was as enthusiastic and friendly as he was talented, his assistant Guissepe; calm and helpful. Filippo, the owner, host and winemaker himself is one very much in tune with the life of the place. He is there when you need him, with plenty of interesting stories to tell, as well as all the details you need to have wonderful excursions in the area.
