Borgo Don Chisciotte, is located in a quite neighborhood in the Province of Modica and it is the perfect place to relax after a long day of sightseeing. The staff is very courteous and the rooms are clean and with all comforts. The Spa, even if it has an additional cost, is worthwhile and it is an added value to the vacation.

Located in the countryside a 15-minute drive from Modica, this hotel has a central block and several external low-rise buildings, a huge parking lot, a separate restaurant and a big outdoor pool area. The pool itself consists of 3 different sections with different depths. Rooms are very spacious and comfortable, clean and stylish and we also had jacuzzi in our bathroom.
Breakfast is good and it is served in the central block from 7.30 to 10am.
At night the compound is very quiet and there's a lot of privacy.
The downsides are Wi-Fi only in the main building and the A/C which is not controlled manually.

The Hotel is well out of town and consists of blocks of rooms not connected to the Hotel building. The rooms were well furnished and quiet but the first floor rooms suffer from a lack of roof insulation that made them need air-conditioning at night in September. Ground floor was exactly opposite but the air-conditioning was controlled from Reception and not as described in the room. They had 3 weddings and a car rally on during our three day stay so guess who came last in the pecking order. Dinner on all three nights was chaotic with bits of food arriving at the tables, not in the right order and cold and greasy. Getting wine which we were paying for was like getting rain in the desert. We were on an Archers tour, 51 of us with a Dutch Guide. She was no use at all. She promised 'the Director' would be there the next night so it would be better. He came along, gave her a kiss, looked at us, then went into the kitchen. If anything it got worse and being a fair distance out of town there was no where else to go. The third night was just as chaotic and 'foodless'. Our first breakfast was great until you wanted a tea or coffee. You had to queue at the bar whilst one woman dispensed the drinks for 51 people. She had hot water and coffee in flasks but it was cold and she was trying to warm it up on the steam pipe. Next day breakfast started to arrive as we did and the drink situation was still the same. They were still bringing out breakfast as we left. Final day leaving early and we were surprised to see breakfast almost laid out as we arrived; still the same situation with the hot drinks. Our Guide who had been totally useless was now gushing about the food at the second Hotel (more of that later). They need a Maitre D and a Chef urgently, so check before you go.

Room tip: Ground floor in the summer, but the whole area was quiet despite the nightly wedding celebrations.

Large hotel with very well appointed rooms, whirlpool bath, linen etc. But the food was awful, very poor quality, not great service and certainly poor portions. I believe it was all cooked from frozen. They certainly did not employ a chef or anybody vaguely able to cook from scratch. Totally isolated in the Ragusa region, you had no choice but to eat the slop dished up or starve. Unfortunately so many people have also slated the food quality, but the hotel does not seem to take note and try to improve. Quite frankly they deserve to go out of business. Shame because the staff are very pleasant. I do have to say that tour companies who use this hotel have to take a big part of the blame too. They must be getting an excellent deal to maintain their profit margin otherwise they would listen to their customers and stop using them.

Room tip: Don't bother, whilst the hotel is ok and the rooms are good, you would need to travel a few miles to the nearest town to get reasonable food
