“Rooms with a view!”
Reviewed January 15, 2016 for a stay in December 2015

We stayed at this striking hilltop house over New Year's Eve, enjoying the fireworks from our terrace overlooking Modica Bassa. Our group consisted of three adults and two eight-year olds--and we all delighted in the arty features of the apartment's original and stylish interior design. The kitchen was well equipped and, like all other spaces, meticulously clean upon arrival. The walk down to Modica's Corso Umberto, where most restaurants and shops are located, was easy to manage and afforded spectacular views of the baroque town. Evening walks back home through deserted narrow alleyways made us feel transported straight to a movie set. Kind Amalia, who welcomed us upon our arrival and handed over keys to the apartment, was a pure delight: very knowledgeable about the town and local attractions and always on call for further enquiries. All in all, it was a perfect place to spend a holiday.

“Casa Kimiya, brilliantly decorated apartment with stunning views of Modica”
Reviewed May 20, 2015 for a stay in May 2015

This is a beautiful property, with excellent amenities like good beds and great linen. Beautifully furnished with artistic touch, spaces are interestingly decorated with artworks.Located in upper part of the city offers stunning view from the terrace. We had many a happy evenings chilling in the terrace enjoying the sunset and stunning starry nights from the day bed. Many great touches like beach towels, guides to good restaurants in Modica and other places of interest. Amalia who welcomed us is bright and knowledgable. We will definitely return to this or their other property again. One of the best places we stayed in our travels around Italy.

“UNIQUE, SPECIAL, ORIGINAL.”
Reviewed April 22, 2015 for a stay in March 2015

A house is not a home. Except when you find it welcoming in every detail, on every wall, on every photograph, on every stone, on every open window.
When you find it special simply by being true to what it stands for: a great project done with great care.
To find something unique in a unique town is not that difficult.
But to find something unique that balances nostalgia and originality, emotion and confort, style and design in one single spot is hard to find.
Kimiyá is a house that an artist built for friends, for companions, for travellers, for dreamers and all those looking for a place to rent that feels familiar from the first step in.
A place that becomes a spot in your memory and not on a map.
A place you can call home.

“Stunning retreat overlooking Modica”
Reviewed April 22, 2015 for a stay in April 2015

We felt like kings staying in this beautiful flat.

It was perfect for our family of 4, with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. I loved the details- beautiful and interesting art, wine available to drink and purchase, fresh fruit and chocolates from Modica there for us on arrival.

The level of service that Luca and Amalia provide is really incredible- they booked restaurants, wine tasting nearby, a private chef in our apartment and all of their suggestions were perfect.

I'm still dreaming about the view from the balcony, watching the lights come on in the evening was magical and one night we were treated to fireworks over the Cathedral which was really a special treat.

We loved sharing the special Easter traditions with the locals- the Easter Sunday procession through town was really wonderful!

Thank you Luca for creating and sharing such a magical place!

“Stylish, comfortable and welcoming”
Reviewed March 25, 2015 for a stay in February 2015

This is possibly our favourite self-catering venue ever - and we have stayed in lots. The house is chic, well-equipped and relaxing. Amalia's introduction was incredibly thorough and the views over Modica are as stunning as the photos suggest. The only downside was that parking on the street wasn't always as straightforward as we might have liked, but any difficulties were forgotten as soon as we walked through the front door. It's a wonderful place to stay.

“Elegance with a view”
Reviewed October 18, 2014 for a stay in October 2014

We had a week at this lovely apartment. It is well appointed and very comfortable. It was hard to choose between wine on the balcony or upstairs on the terrace. The views from both are amazing. There is art work everywhere and it is so well appointed. It really is a charming apartment. Modica and the surrounding area have so much to see and this is the perfect base for day trips to the beach and the baroque towns. Amalia greeted us and was most accommodating and helpful.

Liked best: The views were amazing. It was a great place to relax after a day of touring. The terrace was very comfortable and a great place for dinner.
Liked least: Having to find parking every day, but this was part of the fun of living in a Sicilian town.

“Beautiful retreat in the Baroque town of Modics”
Reviewed August 10, 2014 for a stay in August 2014

House Kimiya is a beautifully furnished and maintained little house in Modica. Luca and Amalia provide excellent service in recommending restaurants, places to visit etc. We were warmly welcomed with fresh fruit, local sweets and they have a great selection of wine on offer. The bedrooms and bathrooms are really nice. Lots of little touches to make it special and great art works. The house is reached finally on foot by walking the little pathways above town. Quite near to the San Giorgio church. The view is wonderful!
