“Certainly not a tourist trap; always full of locals!”
Reviewed August 31, 2014

My third time to Modica and this Osteria and would return. The dishes are based on traditional Sicilian recipes and are always freshly prepared. Hint: you can ask to have two half portions of starters to try as many of the dishes as possible especially if sharing with others! Service was excellent too. Bill for 4 persons with 8 half portion starters and 4 main course and 1 desert + coffee came to €85 including an €8 cover charge.

“Industrial scale tourist trap”
Reviewed August 28, 2014 via mobile

You have to be impressed by the service of the 100 or so tables that are lined up outside the biggest eatery in Modica. That is, the speed of the service rather than the quality. Choosing quantity, as such, it is no surprise that the human touch suffers. Sadly, this seems also to be the case with the food. Traditional aspirations aside, the bread was in edible, the antipasto was average and the two pastas we ordered were underwhelming. Best avoided.

“Best meals - best service +”
Reviewed August 20, 2014

Best meals - best service and,in our case, a complimentary tasting of chocolate as well as almond products (granita), delicious. then a lift home in a charming little vehicle that could negotiate the tiny ancient paths and drop us at the door of our lovely cave 'Il Vicoletto di Emilio'

The range of the food and the flavouring array would suit any taste buds and the food is delicious and the people extremely friendly.

very good value for money too.

“very authentic food”
Reviewed August 19, 2014

i have sampled the food at this cute Osteria during my Barocco tour. I tried the pasta Tnniruma and pasta MACCU both were delightful and so tasty. all home made including the pasta, so fresh and tasty, never had anything like this before. Would definitely come back again to this cute little restaurant. it is worth the visit.

“Delicious and creative food”
Reviewed August 17, 2014 via mobile

The place and the menu looked touristic yet the dishes were incredible. Creative pasta menu and various choices of delicious meat course. Dessert also delightful. We were the last table to finish in late afternoon and the staff were cleaning the other area of the restaurant. We could see how thoroughly they cleaned the floor and the toilette. Highly recommended.
