we have been in this hotel for 4 nights together with family. Need to mention, that there was a problem to communicate in english, but there was one great women from the reception, who knew english quite well and told us lots of information on Guspini and Cagliari.
also need to mention a very great kitchen and restaurant staff. They really are preaparing great seafood meals!

Stayed two night hotel staff excellent, very clean rooms but all 20 rooms in one long tiled corridor and with paper thin walls so can hear everything that goes on in corridor as well as the rooms. To open and close your doors they slam so can hear tha as well from every room. Wifi was hopeless only good around reception. Ammentities ie swimming pool etc all need upgrade
and money spent on the whole property. Went to restaurant and that was very good.

We stayed here for just over a week in August with our two children. The hotel is very well placed for exploring south west Sardinia with its old mines and beautiful beaches such as Piscinas. Note that the beaches are not next door, however. There is a 30-50 minute (winding) drive to get to the best ones with some of them involving dirt tracks for the last part of the journey. However, there isn't a huge choice of hotels in this area and this one is new, comfortable and with a pool and restaurant so is a good choice, especially in terms of value for money.

The hotel is a lttle difficult to find at first - easiest is to head into Guspini then head out in the direction of Gonnosfanadiga. You can't walk into Guspini from the hotel but it is easy to park in Guspini and it is only a 5 minute drive. The hotel is in a pleasant location with views of the surrounding countryside and a particularly nice view from the pool.

The staff are generally very helpful - especially Anna at reception who speaks English and French and who is very knowledgable about the area around Guspini and beyond.

The rooms are pretty big, mostly looking out onto a field of olive trees or the surrounding hills. Bathrooms are big, new and spotless. There is free wi-fi but it doesn't work well at all so we used the computer in the reception area which is available to everyone for free.

Breakfast can be taken in the big breakfast room or outside on the terrace which is beautiful but in August can be a bit hot even with the shade of an umbrella! Coffee was good - cappuccino if you request it - and a decent buffet with cheese, hams, yogurts, fruit, fresh Italian pastries, bread etc. Everything was usually replenished regularly though we were a bit surprised when one day we were told that there was no butter that day!!

Although the hotel does appear on hotel booking sites, we booked directly with them and they did the same price as the hotel booking sites but with the addition of one free spa entrance and a massage for the adults. We used the spa and it was fantastic - brand new and spacious. Only one of the girls in the spa spoke anything other than Italian so it was a little tricky trying to book but we managed and it was well worth it!

The hotel has a very small outdoor pool overlooking the hills with plenty of sun loungers and a pool attendant. The pool was the one real disappointment for us about the hotel. You cannot use the pool if the attendant isn't there though which is a shame as it does not open very early, closes in the middle of the day and closes fairly early in the evening. Children were not very welcome at the pool (frowns from the attendant if they laughed too much!!); not allowed to play in it really (whereas when we booked we were told that children were very welcome at the hotel).

The hotel also has a sports complex attached to it with an indoor swimming pool but this was not open during our stay. We could have used the gym for free but it never seemed to be open generally and they would have had to open it up specially for us. They also have a ten pin bowling alley in the sports complex and Anna gave us some free tickets to go with the children which was a huge success - the guys running it were great and put up barriers so the childrens' bowls couldn't go into the gulleys each time. We could have our aperitif there and there was virtually no-one else there early in the evening (the local youth seem to use it after dinner when it looks pretty busy).

Finally, the hotel has a decent restaurant and pizzeria attached to it. Pizzas are served until very late whereas the restaurant stops serving a bit earlier - seating is in the same area; it is just the menus that change (so adults can choose from the restaurant menu and kids from the pizza menu if you like). We ate here on a number of occasions. Pizzas are excellent as is the pasta. Grilled meats are less good (a bit ordinary) but the fish baked in a salt crust is superb. Sardinian wines on their wine list are good and reasonably priced. In the summer they have lots of tables outside but it gets busy on Friday and Saturday evenings so you should book in the morning.

Overall a good choice in the area - good value for money - not entirely child friendly though.

First a note to the receptionist Anna, she is excellent, informative and welcoming from the first minute.
Rooms are large we looked out on the countryside with a 40 meter walk to the pool which we only managed to use twice all week. The area visible from the hotel is also very beautiful.
We booked early but not directly with the hotel, when we were arrived we were advised we had a free spa visit which was a nice way to end although be advised its very busy if you want to book massages.
Breakfast is in the main building and simple but enough, other meals can be taken in the restaurant attached to the hotel at the sport/health club where there is also bowling and sometimes a live band.
Piscina's big empty beaches are between 30 and 60 minutes away, Is Arutas an hour and Cagliari just under an hour so you always have to drive and we knew this up front so were quite happy with it
Only one observation and that was the towels could have been changed although its a minor comment and we would return happily if we again had to visit friends in the area.
