We noticed the absence of English-language reviews for this restaurant and thought it would be a good way of getting away from the more touristy places in the old town. Don Vincenzo is only a 6-7 minute walk from the bridge and very easy to find.
We had a friendly welcome when we arrived and 'negotiated' what we wanted to order in our broken (virtually non-existent) Italian. We got exactly what we asked for: a nice rocket salad with small tomatoes and mozzarella di buffala, followed by a crispy (red) pizza with Parma ham. I do not think any of these items appeared on the menu in this form, but they were very happy to accommodate our wishes. We ordered the open red wine, which was reasonably priced and not bad at all.
The atmosphere is great - the restaurant is decorated to resemble a street, complete with 'windows' and washing hanging on the line. Most guests seemed to be regulars. We left completely satisfied with the meal and the experience.
