i had seen Antico on our walk-about prior to dinner but had not looked at TripAdvisor beforehand. we were the first in the restaurant (around 7:10), soon after 1 other couple and finallly, a celebratory party of 7 arrived. The proprietor described first courses that nearly had me veer from my determination to have the '2nd' (course), their Pork shoulder (Jim opted for the ravioli that was served in a yummy sauce). We were served bruschetta w/ proscutto & a glass of sparkling white as an appertif (gratis), as was every one else, so this was not a 'ploy'...just lovely restaurant treatment. 'Mom' (the 'chef') came to take orders of the two Italian gentlemen whose meals came sooner than our own. served with yummy rosemary potatoes, my pork shoulder was worth waiting for! it was just the home-cooked 'love food' that the other entrees seemed to offer. we ordered the house wine and it, too, was some of the best house wine we've had this trip. The bill came to 33Euro, quite reasonable for what was received. Our proprietor served us each a shot of cognac after it was clear we were too stuffed to partake of the offerings on the dessert tray; another nice 'touch'. This had been the most delightufl combination of food AND service (albeit 'slow') of our entire month of travel, thus far, and was a welcome end to what had otherwise been a not-so-hot travel day. Slow down; savor the fact that this kind of restaurant will die with their owners' deaths, and ENJOY!
