Now, THIS was something special. Travel writer Francine Segan said that her meal at Cantina del Picchio was perhaps the best she has had in Italy - and was she right-on! Our meal was a veritable feast, a parade of delectable treats - we counted eleven different courses - of antipasti, pastas and meat dishes. Somehow, Chef Pasqualini Emilio managed to also produce the same number of vegetarian dishes for my son (the chef is a wonder!) We enjoyed local wine and local produce. We did not order off a menu, but were placed in the talented hands of the chef who prepared the fresh offerings of the day (of course any special requests were duly accommodated). I would definitely advise that del Picchio is worth a trip!
