“Villa San Raffaello achieved our expectations.”
Reviewed June 3, 2015 for a stay in May 2015

Villa San Raffaello achieved our expectations. The welcome was warm, the accommodation was spacious, the pool was maintained to a high standard and our hosts were most helpful. We found good rambling on tracks and quiet roads around Sarnano, as well as more adventurous outings into the Sibillini mountains.

“The perfect setting for a well earned rest”
Reviewed May 28, 2015 for a stay in May 2015

The Villa is situated just outside of the local historic town of Sarnano so you have a perfect choice of privacy and comfort at the Villa and a variety of activities and excursions all in beautiful surroundings of Le Marche.
Damien's extensive knowledge of the region helps a visitor to really make the most of their time here, insider information is always a plus!
Thank you for making us so welcome.

“Our best villa experience in Italy!”
Reviewed May 7, 2015 for a stay in April 2015

We spent a delightful warm spring week at Villa San Raffaello. We have enjoyed renting several villa accommodations in central Italy, none more than this one. The villa is less than five minutes by car to beautiful Sarnano with its many shops and restaurants. The surrounding area boasts charming towns and villages and endless possibilities for walks in the hills. You can ramble directly from the villa, taking in lovely hilly countryside untarnished by commercial or industrial development. The compact two-bedroom unit we rented (for two couples) was really charming – done in the “Tuscan” style of gentrified rustic with smart modern kitchen and bathroom. Best of all was the spacious, sheltered balcony with its spectacular west-facing view of Sarnano and the hills -- in late afternoon a perfect spot for drinks in the magical golden light. Damien was a super host who welcomed us warmly and provided us with plenty of advice on what to see and do. He provided us with lots of DVDs, CDs, and board games, as well as wood for the fire, and he even linked us up with local events that gave us a special connection to the community and its history. You can instantly tell that Damien loves meeting and engaging with people, and that he takes great pride in his garden and the property generally. I cannot recommend Villa San Raffaello strongly enough.

“Fantstasic, relaxing week”
Reviewed October 21, 2014 for a stay in August 2014

We had a lovely, relaxing week. We went with our two boys (9 and 11 years old) who made friends with the other children there. The setting of the villa is idyllic and the accommodation itself is perfect. We enjoyed eating outside on our balcony and one evening all the families came together for a bbq. The owners couldn't have been more helpful. Overall it was a perfect week.

“Beautiful villa and great surroundings”
Reviewed October 19, 2014 for a stay in July 2014

We spent 2 weeks in villa San Rafaello. After a warm welcome by Sharon & Damien we installed ourselves in the beautiful appartment. They have really done a great job transforming an old farm into holiday appartments. Before this holiday, we always hired a caravan on a camping site in Spain, France or Italy. This was quite different... Never felt so much at home on a holiday! The first week we met some nice people, the children played together and we had a BBQ while watching the mountains and stars. Great! The beautiful town of Sarnano is nearby and offers a weekly market and restaurants. Also Amandola is great for an ice cream or a drink. For us, the higlights of our stay were in the Siblini mountains. Lots of great possibilities (also with our children of 10 and 12) like Lake Fiastra, Piano Grande and many more. From Holland it's a long drive, but we took 3 days and it's worthwhile if you like the rural and calm Italian life.

“Excelletnt vacation/excellent villa.”
Reviewed October 19, 2014 for a stay in September 2014

We also just finished a two week vacation in Italy. As first time visitors, the trip to Villa San Raffaello in our first week was a highlight. Well located for hikes, shopping in town, visits to the beach or a local vineyard, it was well appointed, well laid out and perfect for our group. The owner provided excellent advice and instructions in locating and participating in nearby activities, and made arrangements for several excellent excursions. We also visited Orvieto, Florence and Rome in our second week, which were all wonderful, but the Sarnano area provided us a great experience off the beaten path. Highly recommended to families and groups.

““Only one word comes to mind - WOW””
Reviewed October 19, 2014 for a stay in September 2014

Just finished our first Italian villa vacation at Villa San Raffaello in Sarnano Italy. What a wonderful experience. We utilized the great website that the owner has put together to plan many activities for the week we were there. Highlights included the recommended "slow food" experience at Picciolo Di Rame, a wonderful dinner in Sarnano at Osteria Le Clarisse, the cooking class with Lia in the old part of the town, and the winery tour at Il Pollenza, to name just a few. And each activity was only made better knowing that we would be returning at the end of the day to the beautiful Villa San Raffaello. The experience was everything I ever dreamed an Italian villa vacation could be...
