The positive thing about this B&B is that it is wonderfully situated directly at the sea and that you can hear the sea from your window as well as enjoy a sunset from the most western point of Europe within walking distance.

To our disappointment this was however where the list of positive points ended for us.
First the rooms as well as the whole house are quite old and not nicely refurbished at all. This would still be ok if the bed was better but unfortunately it isn't and we therefore slept really bad. The breakfast was less than mediocre - one of the worst I have had during our week in Ireland.

All in all I would have been ready to pay 40 to maximum 50 EUR for this kind of accomodation but the price of 70!!!! EUR really left me speechless for a moment.
For just 25 EUR more you can stay in a 4 star hotel in Kenmare!

My recommendation if you want to stay on the Dingle peninsula and don't exactly want to stay on Slea head: Look for a nice B&B in Dingle!

Caitlin and her daughter Nieve made our stay at Slea Head Farm House great. Perched on the ocean with spectacular views this quaint place to stay is well worth it. Make reservations in advance as it seems popular.

If you are passing around the Dingle Peninsula you should definitely take the time to stop at the Slea Head farm for a night. We stayed two nights and got to enjoy the AMAZING view of Blaskett Islands, friendly hostesses (who prepared a lovely authentic Irish supper for us), and hear Irish Gaelic spoken at home. The rooms are all wonderful with good views. The hostess helped us arrange a taxi to take us to a restaurant for supper and Irish music one night. I would highly recommend Slea Head Farm for a slice of cozy, friendly Ireland.

Slea Head Farm is the most western farm in Europe and a magic place to stay. From every room you have a phantastic view of the overwhelming coastal landscape. The rooms are very tidy and feel like private rooms. Breakfast (included in the room price) is excellent and a lot (especially if you order the full irish breakfast)
The owner Caitlin is very friendly and warmhearted. If you bring children, they will enjoy walking Molly, the farm's Golden Retriever. Our 8 year-old Sofie loved this place so much that she wants to go there again next year.
In case you are movie fans: "Ryan's Daughter" is a beautiful movie filmed on Dingle Peninsula, with many film scenes (like the ones at the beach) being very close to Slea Head Farm.

Staying at Slea Head Farm B&B was one of the best experiences during our recent holiday in Ireland. We stayed July 1 — July 5 2007 and loved everything about this B&B. Caitlin is welcoming, warmhearted and friendly, the room + ensuite are moderately furnished but very comfortable, and the food is really great — but the best thing about this place is its location. The house is perched right beside the sea amongst green stone-walled fields, old stone ruins and the family's grazing sheep, and the view from our window to the Blaskets was extraordinary. When standing in the middle of our room all that could be seen in the frame of the window was the sea thrashing just outside below the cliffs. It's that close! There's a cosy guest lounge with tea and coffee facilities, and satellite TV. There is a good cafe just a few doors away for lunches (or a dinner to heat up later in the microwave at the B&B) and it is only 25 minutes drive into Dingle for the restaurants there. The location is perfect for day trips and walks/hiking around the Dingle Peninsular. If you are looking for something 'remote' but well managed, comfortable, unfussy and spectacular, I would highly recommend this B&B — we will stay again if we are ever back in Dingle.

I prefer to stay in the country, especially on Dingle, so Slea Head is 20 minutes from Dingle town around the windy Dingle roads. If that doesn't bother you, I enthusiastically endorse a stay at Slea Head Farm. It's not enough that the welcome is warm and the rooms comfortable. The view is one in a million from a farmhouse tucked out at the edge of the world so that it looks out over Coumenole Strand and the Blasket Islands, which can be seen from every room. The farm is a working one, so you get to meet not just the lovely Firtears, but their animals. The house is simple, the rooms basic. But all is spotlessly clean and the food good. And you're in the heart of the Gaeltacht, where the Irish is spoken. It's just wonderful.
