I stayed at Stonewell's from the 4th till the 11th of July 2012. We had a group of 4 girls, including myself. The Location of this hotel, is probably the best of all of the hotels I saw... don't be put off by the other hotel reps, they're just jealous. Its a 3 minute walk to the start of the strip/McDonalds and a 5 minute walk to the beach. Noise wise, at night Tim will tell you to keep it down if you're being too noisy but nothing over the top, just to be respectful to all the other people in the hotel.

In my opinion, my friend and I got the best room in the hotel, it was on the first floor at the side of the hotel, over looking the pool and bar area, so you could easily socialise with other people staying at the hotel. The balcony was really handy for drying towels and bikinis etc. The other two girls room was much smaller and probably had half the size of our balcony so they came round ours a lot.

My roommate and I paid the 40 euros each when we arrived for Air Con and the safe, as it was 40 euros cheaper than if we did it on any other night! To be honest we didn't really need the safe but the Air Con was essential in day time after staying up all night, you're bound to sleep late and the rooms get incredibly hot. We only noticed the heat when we had gone into the other pair in our groups room and felt the heat wave as we opened the door.

The hotel bar/restaurant is probably one of the best value wise I visited. Janis, the bar man, is such a lovely guy too, always a laugh to talk to. If you impress him like I did and down a 'headfocker' before the sparkler goes out he may treat you to a 'suck it!' or some other concoction of his. The food is also really good too. They offer the cheapest full english of all and probably the best too. Their milkshakes are amazing too if you're getting Malia flu!

The music round the pool starts around 11am, which is nice cause it gradually wakes you up so you can actually enjoy the day light, and all important tanning hours.

Martha, the manager, Dafyd, the waiter, and the kitchen staff were also amazing. All so friendly and helpful. They even sent our group Christmas cards, very sweet of them!

We did incur a 50 Euro fine at the end of the trip but that was because my room mate had left her tanning oil on my bed the night before and it had stained the sheets, so was pretty reasonable.

Stayed here in August was the best girly holiday ever!! Hotel wasn't very clean sheets didn't get changed why we was there didn't get any fresh towels, security mans a right nob follows you when u come in drunk and shines lasers in your face!! Considering its a 18-30 hotel your not allowed to come in and even laugh get treated like a school kid. We got woke up one morning with maria the receptionist hammerin r door in to show us the cctv as apparantlty we had hit the security man (so he said) Our beds only had 2 pieces of wood at the bottom as I discovers when I woke up on the floor!! Showers disgusting causes floods!! The only advantages of this hotel it's very close to the strip and there's a McDonald's on the corner!! Malia is the place to be just don't stay at Stonewell an you'll be fine!!!

I stayed at these apartments in late September with my sister for her 18th Birthday. Accommodation was typical 18-30 (i've stayed in alot worse in Ibiza!!), it was basic and relatively clean, our room was average size with a balcony.
We had a rep from another hotel, Dan, who made himself at home while he flogged us some wristbands for 60euros (because we didnt want to do the boat party) to go to some of the events. We figured alot of other people must be doing this as it was just at the end of season, so the busiest nights would be these, and we were right.
The next day we met the rep for our hotel, Zack, and he did talk the talk i'll give him that! He kind of wasn't interested in anyone else at the hotel unless they had bought the wristbands, which is bad really because he should have been making sure the other guests were happy too.
But back to the hotel......
The location is brilliant, it is about a minutes walk if that to the main strip, and about 4 minutes to the beach its really close to everything! The food in the restaurant adjacent to the hotel was really good, the food was nice and it was very good value for money.
On arrival, the reception (when they are there...) take your passport and keep it once they have done a room check on departure, and there is a checklist with prices if you damage anything! However said pricelist was not in our room, but luckily as we are quite OCD tidy, it was ok!
Alot of comments about the security guard, we had a slight altercation one night, and he was just shouting! He wasn't unreasonable or rude, just didnt really seem to listen to anyone else!
OVERALL the hotel was ok, i think the hotel itself could do with a facelift, and a good clean, a different rep, but the location is really good, and the restaurant next door is great (as are the staff!) I probably would stay here again as you get used to its little quirks and faults and find them quite endearing!!

I have just come back from a lads holiday in Malia (Sept 2012) and have got to say that the service from this hotel was excellent. Starting off with the rooms, they were a little basic, but they had the basics required, and to be fair, how much time do you spend in the room anyway? In our case not very much. Tim the security bloke was a good laugh, but also wouldn't take any messing if he thought we were making too much noise, which is fair enough. The restaurant was excellent, Janis the waiter was a top bloke, and went out of his way for us. Dafyd was brilliant, always having a laugh. Martha was very friendly. For the whole of our week, we used the restaurant and nowhere else, because the food was awesome. And you couldn't get a better location, maybe 1 minute from the main strip and 5 min from the beach? Fantastic. Would 110% go back to the same place for another lads holiday.

I have just returned from a week at the Stonewell Stuidos in Malia with a group of 4 girls best holiday ever :) The hotel was lovely with all the requirements of a self catering holiday. The pool area was nice and clean, it provided a nice space to sunbathe and enjoy a cocktail from the Stonewell Bar, with thanks to both Martha and Yanis the barman they were the best cocktails we had in Malia :) esp the Strawberry Daiquiris and Cherry Bombs!!All the staff were really friendly made you feel like you where at home and would chat away, Tim the security guy was lovely we spent a few nights up late chatting away to him : ) The location is really good, as you are only a short walk from the main strip, McD's and there are also several supermarkets located next door which was good. Overall the holiday was brilliant, an we will be back : ) Miss you Stonewell and all the staff, hope to see you's all again soon : )

I went with a mate of mine from the 28th August to the 4th September. The hotel is a basic hotel as what you expect for self catering. The food down at the bar is amazing, I never managed to finish mine as there was so much to eat these meals were at great prices to.mlots to choose from and the cocktails were also brilliant. The staff in the bar/restaurant were very nice and pleasant. They made me feel at home and would always make a conversation. As soon as we got there we was asked if we wanted aircon/safe we bought it at €80 and always used them both. The reps are very pushy at making you spend money but we done three events, silent disco, sunset party and boat party, do the disco and boat party!! Also with the rooms do not break anything or stain sheets as this can be expensive we wasn't charged for nothing but other people were. If you see a problem make sure you tell them on the day when you get there so do a inspection of your room. You always 2 mins from the strip and mcdonalds which is always a god help. Overall brilliant holiday!! I would deffo stay there again.
