The price that we paid for a 7 day all inclusive stay was about the same as a one night stay bed and breakfast at a british hotel so it was always going to get 5 stars for value provided most things were acceptable.

Accommodation. Half the rooms are in the main hotel while half are in annexes. The accommodation in the annexes judging from the outside have different sizes and views. Some have small or no balconies while others have large apartments and huge balconies. Some have excellent views while others face other apartments.
Our apartment was in an annexed building with a sea view, 50 yards from the sandy beach and 100 yards from the sea. It was cleaned every day. The bathroom was a reasonable size with a shower and bath plus a hairdryer. The bedroom had ample hanging and storage space, 3 single beds, tv, fridge, safe and phone. The balcony was a reasonable size directly facing the sea. Two bulbs blew while we were there, these were immediately changed.

Food - no-one complained about the food, it was mainly for the British Pallet, always cooked, reasonable choice and variety and a reasonable but not high quality. The all inclusive alcohlic drinks were also acceptable. These consisted of beer, local white and red wine, ouzo, raki and local brandy. Drinks were served upto 11.p.m. and served swiftly. As many drinks could be obtained when required, not just one as at some all inclusives. Some people obtained a number of drinks on their tables prior to 11.p.m. so that they could continue drinking without paying long after 11..

Entertainment. - A couple of days their was live entertainment but the other nights was just taped music. The bar area was always well attended every night although this was influenced by the location of the hotel.

Location - I have scored this 5 but depending on your requirements the location could be anything from 1 to 5. The hotel grounds leads onto the private sandy beach. If you are a beach and sea lover it is superb. 30 seconds from your hotel room to the beach. Once on the beach you are 30 seconds away from an all inclusive cool drink or food or toilet faciltities. There is also a large sandy public beach within walking distance.
There are a few restaurants, supermarkets and pubs close by but the main night life is a good 30 minutes walk so if you are a clubber then the hotel location is not ideal. Due to the location unless you just want 7 days on the beach it is recommended that transport is rented. A quad bike for about 50 euros for 7 days will get you around town, the mountains and the nearby areas.

Other Charges. Personnally i never paid any extra with the exception of 50 cents for 15 minutes internet use. Other reviews have said that they had to pay for the fridge this was not the case. Sun loungers on the beach but not around the pool were an additional charge. We never used this facility but the charges i understand were 4 euros a day which were in line with other hotel charges and also the public beach charges.

The staff were excellent , all spoke good english and seemed to enjoy their work. They were always ready with banter and were great with the British.

The hotel is advertised as a 3+ or 4 star personnally i would rate it as an extremely good 3 star.
I could not find fault - it was superb value for money.

Let's get straight to it.......
Firstly we spent 40 minutes waiting for the porter to 'find' our rooms!! After a relatively long flight and at gone midnight it's the last thing you want, believe me. As we trawled along after the porter from room to room to room, we got the impression that he didn't have a scooby....and the used tampon outside the reception gave a really bad impression straight away!

The rooms they stuck 'The English' in were conveniently situated next to a 3ft hornet nest (squirting water at them really p*sses them off!!), a diesel generator the size of a small house which started up at seven in the morning for a couple of hours and sounded like a WW2 tank, several bins full of rotting food and meats and was next to the main road were you have the pleasure of listening to quad bikes speeding past 24hrs a day. If anyone has any doubts over just how bad the generator was, i'll gladly email you a sound recording!
The rooms them selves were more like walk-in wardrobes with beds squeezed in somehow for show. I kid you not, the showers were so small that every movement resulted in you being shrink-wrapped in a see-through curtain (just pray none of your friends/family are unfortunate enough to walk in and whitness this.....it aint pretty!).
We were unable to find a single friendly member of staff, we were treated with a mild contempt most of the time. Most of the staff busied them selves serving their mates drinks at the bar and playing cards.......charming!

On the whole we had a good holiday as Malia itself has something for everyone. Great night life, beaches etc.....think twice before booking here though!!

We went to this hotel for a lads holiday. After reading reviews we were sceptical of booking at this hotel, but it turned out to be bada*s.
I went with 3 other 21 year olds to basically go get wasted in Malia every night. It's a 7 or 8 euro taxi there and back every night (other than the nights you don't come back) but split between people its not bad.

The food was awesome, I don't know what other reviewers are saying, different stuff every day, including pork chops and stuff. Chips are on every day, and a big [--] bowl of grated cheese.
The bar is cool, free beer and spirits and mixers. No vodka and whiskey though, but just buy some if you must have it it's not expensive jeez.
The hotel staff were awesome and up for a laugh, always trying to give you more drinks.

This is the only all inclusive hotel in Malia as far as I know, so if you want all inclusive then I definitely recommend it. If you're going self catered, then just go to one of the hotels in the middle of Malia.

Basically, if you're going on a [--] up in Malia and want all inclusive, go here. I wrote this review because there's so many bad reviews of the hotel, but maybe they're from family's and the like, because I found nothing bad about it. Feel free to ask me any questions.

When we arroved at the hotel we were told we would be staying in a separate block away from the main hotel overlooking a beach club that was not part of the main complex. It was a bit dingy and self-catered when we had booked half board. The apartment was reasonably big but was one of the biggest. The others were far smaller. This turned out to be a bit of a blessing in disguise. It overlooked the sea and when all the windows and doors were open there was a reasonable breeze but hundreds of insects. There were no fans or air conditioning. When we tried to find our way to town it was a half an hour walk along a very isolated road and we ended up having to rent a quad bike as otherwise it was ridiculous. The area though with a quad bike was very nice and I would definitely recommend a trip to sissi harbour beach. The beach at the hotel was ok but you had to pay 4€ for a sun bed both on the beach and around the pool even if you were all inclusive, a bit of a contradiction. Lastly,m the food was awful but that was expected really of a mediterranean hotel. There was a separate all inclusive restaurant which you were not allowed into if you were half board. Overall, a brilliant holiday but that was down to the company rather than the hotel

we had a good 2 weeks all inclusive at this hotel so i do'nt know what people are twistin at! So i'll list good and bad points..
FOOD was good all round apart from breakfast some evenings choice was not great but you'll not starve..plus ice cream through day
HOTEL complex is big with 4 pools brill for kids we did'nt pay for beds round pool and grounds were kept very clean..Beach is only meters away but you have to pay for beds on beach 4euro
ROOMS were good clean and maids came in every day...
DRINKS were good beer, wine, ouzo, soft drinks, wine etc but are served in plastic cups..
HOTEL location is a 20min walk from Malia and right next to beach..
Entertainment was poor so we went to Malia most nights,Taxi is 7euro 1 way to Malia.Would recomend going to Stalis very nice.
HOTEL staff were fine no problems
The only bad polints were that there was'nt many english people there and because of the euro being poor its expensive and not a great lot of shops but enough for a woman.
SO all in all i would give this holiday 8/10..SO I CAN'T UNDERSTAND WHY PEOPLE ARE LEAVING BAD REVIEWS!!

This holiday was mine and my boyfriends first trip away as a couple and was meant to be an experience will we never forget which it turned out to be but for all the wrong reasons!! On arrival at the hotel at 3:30 am we walked in to a pitch black reception to find the receptionist asleep and was not best pleased we had woken him, we were shown to our room which consisted of a bed and a table, the only bedding that was supplied was a pillow and a bed sheet, no duvet, no air con, no fridge, no TV nothing, we tried to sleep but due to being cold, ridiculous amounts of noise from cleaners, bin men and guests and mosquitos we had no success.

In the morning we asked to move to another room, we looked at two different rooms and ended up staying in another room this one did have a fridge and a TV at least but still no bedding or air conditioning, however on closer inspection the fridge was old rusting and smelt and was not plugged in as the TV which was sat on top of the fridge was plugged into the one socket (the socket was hanging of the wall with exposed wires!)

Anyway we thought oh well doesn't really matter as we won't be spending much time in the room anyway....We headed for the beach, we had to pay 4 euros each a day for a sun lounger to lie on a beach filled with cigarette butts!

The food was awful, we headed for dinner and enquired about the two different sauces to accompany the plain pasta shells, however none of the three staff asked, including the chef could tell us the contents of the sauces!!

The hotel staff were rude, unfriendly and unwilling to help

After three days of no sleep due to noise, no air con, hundreds of mosquitos, no food, no relaxation and stress we decided to leave the resort and head back to England, we were so desperate to escape this nightmare of a holiday we paid £628 for the next flight home (the same price as our holiday) I cannot put into words how to describe the horror of this holiday, it was an extremely poor example of what a all inclusive holiday should be.

My boyfriend and I are in our mid 20's and relaxed, laid back people and are also prepared to make the best out of a bad situation, however this was such a horrible place the only solution was to leave ASAP....My advice to anyone considering going to this resort or already booked and ready to go....DO NOT GO!!! It really is hell on earth!!
