My friend and I were travelling for two weeks in Greece and we found this place based on all of their great reviews. George and his family take such amazing care of their guests during your stay. I am in the hospitality industry and can be a tough critic but I was blown away but their place. They had excellent customer service while also making you feel like part of their family. George even went out of his way to make sure we had the best program for our 3 days there. We will definitely be back to make sure and see more of this beautiful island.

Thank you, George, for making our stay unforgettable! We will be back!! Yia Mas!!

My name is derek i have been going here since i was 6 years old i am now 21 and this place is the place to go and stay in malia they make you feel part of their family and sooooo welcome . All rooms are spotless and as this is a family run hotel they take pride in every little detail down to cleaning of rooms. All rooms are amazing but superior delux rooms are out of this world and worth every penny for an upgrade you really wont get anywere else like this in malia. Food is also home made and amazing tried everything and cant fault it at all. If you are thinking of booking here trust me you wont be dissapointed:)

Room Tip: All rooms are amazing though delux rooms are well worth the extra cost :)

me and two friends stayed at kristalli at the end of june beginning of august 2012, all i have to say is BRILLANT. the hotel is exactly like the pictures shown, which we was very happy about, the staff were brillant always very helpful and niko was the best!!!
rooms were nice and clean, maids came in the room everyday to clean it and put clean towels and tissue out for us. pool area was nice during the day just to relax :)
also the good thing was that the hotel was away from the night life.

i didnt want to leave :(
its worth staying here!!!

Having been a number of times to Kristalli during the hectic months of early summer, we did wonder what it would be like later in the season . Arriving on September the 22 , staying through to October 6 was something we wondered about. The other people staying at Kristalli were different more subdued and from all over Europe and even Canada. Having received such fantastic welcome previously from all the family we did not expect more. We were wrong, we missed Eva and Yiannis who were away at University in England. What yet another fantastic welcome and time we had. We also meet Georges` grandfather this time, visited the family garden and noticed how much weight Nico had lost weight and how both Matthew and Antonio had grow, Eva and Catilena working hard as usual , but still with plenty of time for their guests, we ended with a fantastic meal with the family on the last but one night. Happy days God bless the Kristalli family grandma has a very good name. See you all in June 2013.

Room Tip: The new blocks facing the garden area and just relax.

We actually came back from Kristalli in September, our second visit back there this summer. Once again the whole family made us feel at home right from the moment we arrived. Had a wonderful family meal with traditional Creten food on our first evening. Thankyou all, it was really lovely!
We have stayed 4 times at Kristalli in the last 18 months, but it feels like we have have known the family for years. Friendly and always helpful, nothing is too much trouble.
The apartments were as clean always, as are the grounds. Very well maintained by the family.
Most enjoyable holiday again, and we both quite sad to leave at the end.
However, we shall be returning again next year.............Best wishes to you all Alfie & Lynn

i booked a nine night stay at the Kristalli through Hotels4U and made my own travel arrangements.I stayed in one of the basic studios but was more than happy with the quality of the room. There was a well equipped kitchenette with sufficient pots and pans to cook a proper meal if required.Also.a kettle and a toaster.
The bathroom was nicely finished and there was a hairdryer in there too.The bed was comfy and plenty of storage space and hangers in the wardrobe.A new flat screen tv was on the wall with BBC World, several other international channels plus all my Greek favourites !
The garden and pool area and indeed the whole complex are very well maintained by a family who obviously care about their guests and take pride in their business. The pool surroundings are well equipped with sunbeds and it is a nice place to relax
I diddnt have any food at the Kristalli as I am a resolute breakfast self caterer and always eat out on an a night but I had drinks from the bar on a couple of evenings. There is a large TV there which showed Premiership and European football
After I mentioned my interest in gardening to George,he very kindly showed me his own garden away from the complex and I came away with fruits fresh from the tree,a very nice and interesting experience. Also,George was kind enough to suggest walking routes and places of interest to visit and even drew me a map to point me in the right direction.
The location is good,up a bit of a hill on the outskirts of the very pleasant old village of Malia and well away from the bars of the Beach Road. There are probably half a dozen nice restaurants within a 5 - 10 minute walk and some of them even had local customers which is always a good sign.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Kristalli and would have no hesitation in returning.

I've been coming back here with my family since 2006, and Nikos, Catarina,Georgio and the team never fail to disappoint us! The rooms are all of an excellent standard, and i've probably stayed in as many of the differnt types of rooms as they have by now! The Apartments are run by the friendliest hosts you could hope for, and nothing is ever too much trouble for them and they always say hello/ good morning/ evening! There is a daily maid service, so the rooms are always clean, and bathroom towels are changed twice a week along with the bed sheets. as far as I remember the rooms all have air conditioning, and hair driers, and the bathrooms are a decent size. the showers are lovely and spacious, (not like some hotels where you are cramped into a box!) and the food and drinks from the poolside bar are always amazing! The beds are comfortable too which is always a bonus!

The Location is just near the old town, there are a couple of small supermarkets within a 5 minute walk, and with the traditional greek tavernas of the old town about a 5 minute walk away, it gives you the perfect chance to taste the best food in crete! top restaurants are: Milos (take the right hand fork in the road as you get to the shop in front of the 4 seasons hotel at the bottom of the road), Zorbas (best pizza in crete), and then St Georgios and odas in the old town. It is also worth a walk down to the Blue sea for the quietest beach in malia, if you want to get away from the noise! just go down to the beach on the main strip, and head east towards the harbour. (its about 10-15 minutes along the beach just before the harbour).

To get to the beach, it is about a 20 minute walk from the main highstreet down to the strip, but there is another road you can take which avoids the strip, and takes you down towards the harbour. you can also walk about 30 minutes in the opposite direction to get to stalis which has a lot of nice little shops and restaurants (in particular Lambros which overlooks the beach and has some great views).

If you hire a car, you can pretty much explore the whole island. we drove up to the Lasthi plateau which has some amazing panoramic views, and there is a strange and quirky little space museum worth seeing! Spinalonga is also a nice place to visit, which you can get to from Agios Nikolaos by the local bus which comes past the high street (only a couple of euros) or alternatively you can get the bus into heraklion in the opposite direction.

If anyone has any questions please let me know!

Room Tip: For the best rooms, ask for a pool view or superior room. there are no lifts, so if you have heavy s...
