“A gem of a restaurant in Malia Old Town.”
Reviewed August 23, 2014

We visited Stablos & Elizabeths on our last night in Malia's Old Town.
My only regret was that we hadn't found it sooner!
The food was of the highest standard we experienced during our other 6 nights in the Old Town.
And as for the service... this was second to none.
I didn't get the mans name who served us (it may have been 'Stablos', but we're not sure), but he couldn't have been more pleasant or considerate.
Especially when our starter was running a little late, and he brought us out a plate of toasted bread with garlic & sun dried tomatoes by way of an apology.
Then when the food arrived, we were blown away by it altogether.
All-in-all this was the highlight of our stay in Malia. As i mentioned above, we were disappointed that we only got to eat there once, but then again it was a surprise that was an ideal send-off.
Would recommend, and will do my best to get back there sometime soon.

“Amazing”
Reviewed August 20, 2014

The food, service and eating area was our best in Malia. The staff are very friendly and will take time to check on everyone even when busy. Before your meal you are given garlic bread which is amazing. The food is very well presented and hot. The food is full of glavour and also large portions

“Love Stablos!”
Reviewed August 19, 2014

I have eaten at Stablos and Elizabeth once per holiday over quite a few years. For me it is always the highlight food wise of a visit to Crete. we normally stay in Stalis and walk through Malia to get to the old town then get a (hazy!) taxi back after the meal.

The atmosphere is fantastic, right on a little square in the old town, where you can sit on the pavement or upstairs on the balcony. Food always good the meatball starter is the best ive ever tasted. The wine is plentiful and cheap, served in coloured metal pitchers ice cold.

Best of all is Stablos himself who is a great character, making diners feel welcome and serving when he can. Last couple of visits we have shared a little Raki with him after the meal and even been treated to some delicious honey raki at the bar with him after hours, which i insisted on buying one of him too!

its a great restaurant with a great owner with great food and location. highly recommended.

“well presented traditional food”
Reviewed August 7, 2014

I had a nice grilled shrimp meal - at 14 euros - it was dearer than usual but worth it. Can not fault the atmosphere - the waiting staff were very attentive. Great for couples and as a romantic feel about it as it is situated in Old town. Defo worth a visit
