Just came back from Malia 13th-21st August. 5 girls on a lad's holiday! Absolutely magic! Sceptical about this hotel after reading such terrible reviews but would go back to the hotel without a doubt!

The owner is the woman (only scary if you're not on her good side, lovely if you're nice back), Lucky for us the rooms two floors above reception was really nice, good sized balcony, kitchenette etc. Bathrooms are a bit of a disgusting hole to be honest, showers have no doors or curtains so the bathroom turns into a swimming pool after one shower.

The Reps came up to sell us the whole package. Not knowing much about Malia and where/what to do we decided to go for it and shell out 200 Euros each. I would recommend this because they take you out so you can see a good idea of where to go, if you decide one night not to go with them or to leave after the first bar then don't stay with them!

The bar staff are brilliant! Basically if you are up for a laugh then you get free drinks. If you have a sour face and are a miserable grump then you pay.

One bonus is not having to get up early to get seats by the pool, 75% of the hotel are bedded all day so there is always sun loungers!

All in all magic hotel, magic place, would recommend to anyone looking for a smashin time.

So before coming to Malia I was so excited all I heard was good things about it! We got to the hotel - four seasons, when we first got there we got a long speech about how whatever you done basically ended in a fine.. So much as getting make up on a sheet! We got there at 3 and just wanted to head out but Even after the speech from the owner a club 18-30 rep came into our room for over half an hour trying to force us to come to all these events (as I've been to two other party places I know they scam you and it's cheaper to do your own thing and can get cheaper entry into events else where). When we told her we wasn't interested she told us that we would be looking at spending €6 minimum on a drink in a club. We went out that night to find they do really good drink deals in clubs on the strip (3 drinks 3 shots for 5 euros, so she was lying). Anyway Malia itself wasn't bad but four seasons hotel was awful! Some staff were lovely but some were horrible ! The food was shocking.. Don't ask for a jacket potato because you will just get a boiled potato with a bit of cheese on for four euros. The rooms were filthy! And the maid that came in ONCE during our stay and she only cleaned the floor and changed our bins! The hotel was 10 minutes from the strip and 20 minutes from the beach.. If your looking to get a tan don't go to the pool in the hotel as its surrounding by the hotel buildings and the shade covers it all by 3pm.

I knew I wasn't going to get an amazing hotel for a clubbing holiday like this but four seasons was NOt what I expected. Paying 330 euros to stay in such a dump! I would advise another hotel if you're going to stay in Malia!

on behalf of my daughter and her friends, can i say a big thank you to the owners, cooks, maids - especially the maids, I'm told! and the bar staff who took very very good care of them, and made sure that they really had a great time and were safe during their stay there. (TC reps and the hard sell of very over-priced activities notwithstanding).... in response to previous disgruntled, taste-refined judgemental reviewer - and my daughter and her friends are not vomiting 'chavs' by the way, they are University students - Cretan hotels/apartments tend to be broadly similar, with basic SC facilities, air-con and safe costing extra etc. In terms of the resort, as most people are surely aware, Malia is what it is, for young people in search of hangovers rather than a week spent on reading/ early morning tanning/monastic living...definitely not for the SAGA minded. :o)

First of all, I am not a glass half empty kind of person, but this holiday was awful and not one I wish to revisit. Never in my life have I experienced a holiday like this, and anyone who says 4 Seasons Hotel is deserving of its Star Rating or higher, has clearly never stayed in a decent hotel or better. Not only was the holiday itself overpriced, at nearly £600 for a week in a, supposedly, 2 Star hotel on a Self Catering basis. But upon arrival, we had to pay a €70 deposit for the air conditioning and safe; air conditioning that was old and a bit cr*p, and a safe that functioned with a key, so anyone could get in it. We then had to pay a further €205 if we wanted to do any of the activities with the 18 - 30s reps, inc. general nights out. We also had to pay €5 a day for a sunbed by the pool, and pay about €5 per drink at the hotel bar. Don't even touch the hotel food; it's overpriced, not nice, and 3 out of 4 of us ended up with Diarrhea. We knew that we were on a Self Catering basis. But it was Self Catering to the point where you're living in what is practically a concrete tent, it's that basic. And stingy to point where you have to buy your own toilet paper from the supermarket.

Back to the room standard, though. We went in a group of four, with two rooms between us. I was in a room with two single beds, with hard mattresses and flat pillows. A kitchenette that had a couple of pans, a hob and a few items of cutlery. The bathroom had no lock, and was a squalid room with a toilet, sink and hand-held shower that had no curtain, even. Beware of breaking or staining anything. They have zero-tolerance to anything on the bed sheets or towels; even stuff that's washable, you'll get charged for. We were lucky that the maid knew we'd bought washing powder to try to clean things with, so we got no fines. The maids do a cr*p job, too. They mop the (already dusty) floor and empty the bins, that's it. There were no lifts, either. So if you're on the top floors, good luck dragging 15 - 20kg up spiraled stair cases with no help from the staff.

The staff themselves were quite nice. The other hotel guests, on the other hand, are not to the taste of a non-chav. The same can be said for 99% of the fellow holidaymakers in Malia, if you are in anyway different from the chavs that walk the strip; watch your back. As an additional note, anyone who is gay and thinking of going to Malia, think again. I experienced nothing but vile comments and horrid looks, not just from traditional locals, but from fellow Brits. There was not one moment, whether it be in the hotel bar, in a club, or on the strip that I felt at ease and wasn't being looked at disgustingly. Plus, you'll be the only gay in about 20,000 straights; 'cause there are, practically, no gay Brits or locals.

If you go with 18 - 30s, don't expect cheap drinks in the clubs, either; they don't give the good offers to people on the 18 - 30s. Meals in restaurants around Malia are rather overpriced, too. The clubs are horrendous, as well. They all play the same, brain-numbing House Music, in the same order in every club. They are way too overcrowded, drinks are overpriced, and they give you hardly any alcohol in your drink. Beware of the psycho toilet attendants and 'Looky, looky men' in the toilets, too.

All I can say is if you're a heterosexual, easily pleased chav, then this hotel and resort is for you. If you prefer no to wade through vomit, get verbally abused or ripped off, spend your few hundred pounds on a nicer hotel in a nicer resort.

Room Tip: Get air conditioning, whatever you do. It's a bit useless, and comes at a cost; but you'll...

Any bad reviews for this hotel are absolute rubbish, on arrival we did get told a few rules but it wasn't in a rude way. Once we checked in we got a free slice of pizza a free drink and a free shot. For the first week we stayed in a room by the pool which was basic but had everything you need! The atmosphere around the pool was always lively with constant music playing and everyone being young made it more enjoyable. The staff get involved with everyone and provide a night out as a big group, the security guards might be a bit creepy but are lovely and do look after you. The maid service is also good as they come every other day and bins were emptied every time. No complaints whatsoever!!

From reading the reviews on this hotel we were a bit worried. However all of our fears were put aside from the moment we arrived. Van and Cat the hoteliers were amazing! Cat even helped me out with what I had to take to the hospital when I had an accident! We stayed on the 3rd floor which was quite new! The room was clean and the pool area was a great place to relax after a night out which played music from 11am till around 7pm... The bar staff were really friendly, and on arrival we were all given welcome drinks and pizza, alongside loads of Sambuca. Nikki, Spiros, Jess and Aris (the bar staff) were all amazing. They definitely knew how to get everyone going. The rough rule was that if you bought a drink you were pretty much guaranteed a free shot of Sambuca! On the first night we were all invited to a BBQ which brought everyone from the hotel together. The strip was only 10 mins away but far enough to get a good sleep! There is also a little shop across the road which was great for food and drink! This hotel is definitely worth more than 2 stars!! On our last night the bar staff took us all out on a bar crawl which was really good... they even managed to get us some free drinks in the bars which was a bonus! Everyone was buzzing the whole week. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who is up for a fun clubbing holiday.. especially for a first boys/girls holiday! SO gutted to be home now... but trying to convince my friends to return next year!!! Seriously feeling the holiday blues!

Me and a group of friends arrived and were greeted by great hotel staff and the Reps. James is the funniest, kindest most talented person I have ever met and would love to go back just to spend more time with him. April is mad and is up for a laugh and can show anyone a good time. The bar staff are amazing especially hiber!! Van and Cat the hoteliers are so kind and caring just don't annoy them and you will have the best holiday of your life!! I want to come back 100%, bring on the big reunion!!

Room Tip: Top floor in four seasons/27-7
