“more luxurious than we expected”
Reviewed August 27, 2013

I chose this hotel as a stop over on a long drive from Denmark to Hook of Holland. We were amazed by the size of our family room (suite) and the breakfast was of excellent quality. My family were attracted by the swimming pool next door but disappointed to find it closed at 1700 on weekends. We managed to find Darnsee swimming lake (2euros per adult) which provided a refreshing swim on a hot day.
Our great disappointment was that we were unable to eat dinner at the hotel as the restaurant was fully booked for a party. Bramsche town centre was a few minutes drive and we managed to find a good meal.

A very pleasant hotel with mainly helpful staff. Good for a few nights stay when travelling towards northern Germany. Off the beaten track a little but pleasant gardens and outlook beats busy streets.Lack of information at hotel is disappointing e.g. availability of trolleys for lugguage and tariff of items in mini bar etc etc. We have mentioned with to a very helpful male receptionist and hope matters will be addressed. Notwithstanding, we recommend Hotel Idingshof for a comfortable stay with an excellent restaurant and breakfast service.

Room Tip: the junior suites with balconies are spacious and welcoming. Balconies overlook gardens and provide...

Cozy and romantic hotel. From the outside it is in oldfashioned style, but all inside are renovated. Space of rooms varies depending on what class is booked.
There are a restaurant in house which was daily menues or a la carte. Also a bar is located on the ground floor.
Breakfast rooms is seperated from the evening restaurant which makes it a nicer atmosphaere. Very large breakfast buffet.

Staff very friendly. Hotel very clean.
Option for golf close by and there are a swimming / spa center next door where guest have free access (spa activities are for charge).

Room Tip: Larger double bedrooms are recommend, but all rooms are ok.

We were driving from Amsterdam to Berlin and traffic was horrendous so we were looking for somewhere to stop and didn't want to go into Hannover. Finding a little quiet place to break the journey, with a nice restaurant, decent breakfast, gym and not far from the hwy was our criteria and we were pleasantly surprised to find this place - a bit of character as opposed to the bland chain hotels one usually finds to stop over at.

We have stayed here several times now as a family, always in the large family suite. It has 2 double rooms and a bathroom with shower. The beds are typical for Germany where the double bed consists of 2 single matresses within a double frame, it is how it is!! The rooms are always clean and immaculately presented, the bathroom however is a little dated but is spotlessly clean. There is loads of space in the suite for 5 adults to stay there for a number of nights if required. The spa is pay extra but you do get free entry to the local swimming pool next door and we would recommend that you do use it as it is a fantastic facility where you can spend all day there.
breakfast consists of a choice of hot and cold from the buffet along with a good choice of breads and cereal. It is always of a very high standard, the coffee is BRILL, the brotchen (buns) are always fresh and tasty with a wide variety of meats and cheeses. We will be staying again.

Room Tip: Don't think there is a bad room in the hotel.

I stayed here with my wife and three year old son as we drove between Holland and Hamburg.

The hotel looks smart and doesn't feel like a chain - the reception staff were friendly and spoke better English than we did German.

The room was large and clean, although the hotel's energy saving system did mean the corridor was very dark when you first stepped into it, before the sensor kicked in and the lights switched on.

There was free wifi (although it was a little complicated getting signed in). Breakfast was good - although very busy. When we arrived there was a shortage of places to sit.

There is also an opportunity to use for free the town's swimming pool (although we didn't).

We stopped by here when travelling with our three kids. Nice exterior of the hotel and a friendly atmosphere. Very good service and they are clearly used to families with kids. We never felt uneasy because of the kids being as kids are, but always welcome and like at home. The bathland in vicinity is quite ordinary, but good enough for spending a couple of hours as family.
Nice restaurant and the breakfast was absolutely delicious. The family room was spacious and we had a very good stay altogether with nothing to complain about. Very good value for money
