Slightly Disappointed........ Having stayed at Chalet La Foret many times over the years, I was disappointed to experience a drop in food standards. Unfortunately on this occasion we found the food lacking in flavour and imagination, the wine tasteless and the coffee disgusting. I would suggest taking your own coffee and nipping down to the Sherpa for your wine!
On a more positive note the Chalet is in a perfect position on the Blue run of the same name, making it fabulous ski in ski out. The new boot room is a welcome addition, however walking across the terrace can be a bit difficult when covered in ice. The rooms are clean and functional and the front facing rooms have a lovely view over the Tarentaise Valley, however this will cost you extra. The Cavern Bar is a great place for drinks before dinner and for a simple lunch. The underground parking is a must with the freezing temperatures of late, book with ski Olympic before you go.

We love Chalet La Foret for its fantastic position, the surrounding area and the easy at which the Les Arcs pistes can be accessed making for a perfect Ski Holiday, but for a taste of France you are best to hit some of the fantastic restaurants on the piste. Try L'Appette and Chalet de l'arc.

Just got back from the coldest ski week ever, but the La Foret was warm in every respect. Ski in and ski out, great staff, great cakes and great skiing.

This is our second visit back to the La Foret, the first ski hotel we've ever been back to in 20 years of skiing!

It's literally on the piste, named after the run it is on. Vallandry itself is the cutest little ski resort and this week was no exception.

The staff are warm and friendly, the food was superb every night, champagne and canapes on the first and last nights. They catered well too for some of the guests who needed a low cholesterol or vegetarian option. I've never seen so many superb cakes for afternoon tea.

The rooms are clean and tidy, with superb views at the front with a small balcony. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom tidy, with a bath and shower and there is always plenty of hot water.

The cavern bar (public) attached to the hotel serves great food for lunch if you want it and the drinks at night were nice too.

We think that everyone who stays here will enjoy the time in the hotel and their time on the ski runs as well.

Note to guests: You may want to take a hand towel or two as you do only get one small towel each and you might want to ask for an extra pillow as well.

Room Tip: Get one of the front rooms - the view over the valley and the sunsets are superb

Have just stayed at this excellent chalet. It was a wonderful few days for skiing and weather. From the moment we arrived the ski Olympic staff were helpful and organised. (this continued all week)

Ski hire and lift passes were sorted on the coach which was a help.

The chalet was large, catering for 60 plus but this was no problem whatsoever. The staff continually made an effort to make your stay memorable and they were all fantastic. The rooms and the chalet overall were clean and tidy. The food was excellent. Great varied menu and always hot. The urn was always on providing 24/7 hot drinks and tea and cake at 4.30 daily was welcomed after a hard days skiing.

Special thank you to the lovely Emily who along with her colleagues provided great and happy service in the bar.

Vallendry is part if the larger Les Arcs valley and is a vast fantastic skiing area. Was the perfect holiday.

A proper ski in, ski out chalet in the excellent Paradiski domain. Can be accessed by tree lined blue Le Foret run which leads down to the Vallandry chair lifts. Good sized, clean, quiet and simply furnished rooms with comfortable beds. Hearty food enjoyed in one sitting at tables of around 8 people each. Bar attached with balcony overlooking the valley and sky sports (when not knocked out by snow on the satellite dish). Free wi-fi although the signal can be weak. Comfortable lounge area with three seating areas accommodating 20 plus people in total. New boot room with ski stands and boot warmers. Went with friends but would suit families just as well. Vallandry itself has one or two good bars and restaurants and is great for those who want a couple of hours out of their chalet. Those looking for nightlife will need to go further afield. ESF is tha main ski school. New Generation also there but I found them surprisingly unhelpful and inflexible in a relatively quiet week. We booked last minute and got a good bargain.

Room Tip: Balcony rooms at the front have fabulous views down the valley
