This small and modern bed&breakfast is run with a lot of devotion by the owner, who lives next door. All units have their own balcony or terrace overlooking the Lac d'Annecy (the panoramic view could not be any better). The rooms are nicely furnished (each of them in a different style - the owner was an interior designer). The sleep quality is excellent , as is the quality of the breakfast, which is served by the owner in a nicely equipped modern dining room on the ground floor. The owner is very knowledgable regarding restaurants and activities in the region and willing to get out of her way to get information that is not readily at hand. One small caveat: while the rooms are big enough for families with one child, it is virtually not possible to accommodate more than one baby cot or bed for children.

We simply loved just about everything of this little B&B. It was beautifully and tastefully decorated (we had the Asia room), spotlessly clean and very functional. (Only some little dust here and there, not enough to disturb me, even though I tend to be pretty demanding on cleaning.) There was a nice coffee machine and a fridge in the room, some glasses but not very much tableware. We felt though that our hostess Isabelle would very kindly try to help us in all our needs. There was surprisingly much (not total) privacy in the hotel, we felt it was an almost private get-away. The terrace was lovely, large and with a magnificient view. The selection of breakfast was not very large, but everything was fresh, local and truly tasty (several kind of bread, butter, local cheese, home made youghurt and jams, prociutto crudo, some sweet breads, quality tea and coffee, top quality orange juice). We felt the shower was luxurious, as well as the large bed with its lovely linens.

The location in Veyrier-Du-Lac was perfect for us, as we had a car and appreciated having some moments of peace and quiet after spending some time on the road and in the busy town of Annecy. It often seemed that the road around the lake was pretty crouded, so we needed to reserve a few more minutes to get to Annecy and back. We felt the trip was fully worthwhile for the peace.

We also loved the nice selection of good local restaurants, of which the hostess even sent us info beforehand. A taxi to a restaurant in town would cost around 25-30 euros, and our hostess kindly organised it for us. One nice thing we decided to do was to drive around the lake, drop a nice little day-trip to Mont Blanc, and return "home" after a little swim in the lake Annecy. We so warmly recommend this place, it is a really top quality B&B.

We stayed for 4 nights in the 'Vintage' room of Le Clos du Lac in August. It was more expensive than we would normally have paid for a B&B, but we now realise that you get what you pay for! The room was excellent - clean, a quality finish, lovely decor with small touches that made all the difference (sweets in the container on the coffee table, perfect coffee machine, etc.). However, it was the view and balcony that made all the difference. It provided an absolutely picture perfect view of Lake Annecy from a covered balcony with comfortable chairs. We just loved this place and are determined to return. Unfortunately we can't comment on the breakfasts - I'm afraid that we were too busy sitting on our balcony drinking the espresso from the coffee machine and eating our own pain au chocolat!

Room Tip: All the rooms had the same view, but the small amount extra that you pay for one of the upper rooms (Riva or Vintage) means that you have complete privacy.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The owner, Isabelle, is delightful and very easy to work with via email. You need a car to stay here. Because we don't drive stick shift, we rented a car in Lyon. From what I could tell, automatic transmissions are not available for rental cars in Annecy. On the positive side, because a car is necessary, we were surrounded by mostly folks from France that come to the area, rather than the hoards of tourists that come to Annecy by train. We went swimming in the lake at one of the spots in Veyrier du Lac and we were the only English speakers out of about 100 people. Annecy can be crowded with tourists and it was nice to stay elsewhere where it was a bit more relaxed. A car also make it easier to visit the other towns around the lake. We had heard that traffic around the lake can be difficult, but having lived in LA and NYC, the traffic was a minor inconvenience that at busy times maybe caused an extra 10 minutes to get to Annecy. The rooms here are spacious and well decorated and the view is outstanding.

Our room was beautiful , modern ,well appointed. the hostess sweet and efficient ,our breakfast was made with high quality ingredients ,a delicious cake made with chestnut , a wonderful rustic ham, local cheese, homemade yogurt, fresh warm bread, honey, jam and a coffee french press. The view from our terrace was breathtaking , very calm and the nespresso a sublime touch of hospitality. Quiet and charming this place is an oasis for a retreat - perfect for a couple or a little family in search of nature & comfort - very close to Annecy and Talloires ,Verrier du lac is the perfect place without the crowd. To our American compatriots - this place is so much more appealing than the popular tourist locations in the heart of French Alps. We ended up here by accident - if only all accidents turned out so phenomenally!
