“Beautiful, family friendly accommodation with great hosts!”
Reviewed August 15, 2016 for a stay in July 2016

We had a fantastic week (our second stay with Eva and Piet) in Le Grand Bornand. Our hosts went out of their way to make us welcome and suggest activities for our children. The accommodation is great with magnificent alpine views. The pool is superb and the kids loved it! Will definitely be returning....

“Great place, highly recommended, we were with 3 young children and all 5 of us loved every minute of our stay!”
Reviewed August 1, 2016 for a stay in July 2016

Great chalet, well decorated and good facilities (small gym, small swimming pool, enough towels, washing machines etc). Eva and Piet-Hein are lovely owners who make you feel welcome. View from the chalet is superb. Mountain hikes right from the chalet highly recommended. We'll be back!

“Great family chalet in a charming village”
Reviewed March 13, 2016 for a stay in February 2016

We stayed at Le 4 Chalet during our Chinese New Year stay. It is only one hours' drive from Geneva. The village is absolutely adorable and very affordable. No commercial builds; very original with charming chalets. One of them is Chalet le 4. It is at the far end of the valley which makes it very safe for the children to enjoy and enjoy the snow. Eva and Piet-Hein were perfect host and are always ready with advise and assistance when needed. We had a ton of snow and the boys and us thoroughly enjoyed the skiing.
The chalet and -in our case- apartment 2 is very beautiful and has everything one would desire. Pool, gym, drying rooms etc etc. The apartment is fully kitted and good size. The beds are nice and the linen very clean. Five days a week, our hosts get fresh bread on order. Delicious.
All in all, it was a very affordable and brilliant vacation and we plan on going back again next year!! I can wholeheartedly recommend but book early because they do fill up fast during the holidays.

“Perfect Family Holiday in French Alps”
Reviewed September 1, 2015 for a stay in August 2015

This was our second, (summer) trip to Chalet le 4 and we wonder why we left it 2 years to come back! Where to start...it is such a lovely, welcoming place to spend your precious holidays.

The accommodation is immaculate and fitted with top quality appliances, comfortable beds, great showers, and a lovely nespresso coffee maker to accompany the daily delivery of delicious pastries and bread. The highchair, baby bath, steriliser, built in baby monitors, night lights, proper wooden cot all made travelling with little ones so much easier. The endless pool in the basement is perfect for swim training but also great for the little ones - with lots of toys for them to play with too. The playroom, located adjacent to a large dining area (if you're there with friends) is brilliant...parents can relax after dinner whilst the little ones keep themselves amused with a fantastic variety of toys, kitchen, table football, dressing up box, etc....

The wonderful hosts, Pete and Eva really have thought of everything when designing and equipping their beautiful chalet and we couldn't recommend it highly enough to anybody.

“Amazing base for an awesome alpine summer break”
Reviewed August 24, 2015 for a stay in August 2015

We (2 adults, 3 kids - 11,9,7) wanted a change this year from our usual bucket and spade beach holiday so we looked for a non-beach, active holiday somewhere hot and sunny and wanted to base ourselves in a comfortable apartment. The alps/chalet le 4 hit the right mark for us on so many different levels.
The chalet itself certainly has the wow factor from the minute you pull up onto the drive. Everything is very well thought through and all of the equipment/appliances are top notch. The pool is a real bonus - small but perfectly formed and, along with the gym and sauna, is great for unwinding and cooling down after a long day out hiking or cycling with a nice decking area to sit out on. There's also a handy morning bread/pastry delivery (the 'bread fairy' leaves it hanging on your door) and we also participated in a table d' hote one evening - dinner with the other guests cooked by the hosts (Eva). I definitely recommend this as a). Eva is a great cook, and b.) it's a good way to get to know the other families/kids to make friends etc. The hosts were great - really friendly and helpful. Eva arranged tennis lessons for our kids at the local courts.
The area around Grand Bornand is stunning - with a huge variety of activities to participate in - hiking, cable cars, cycling, zip wires, summer luge, paragliding, go ape (type) course, golf or simply lounging around the beautiful pool in the village. I'm not sure if we were lucky with the weather but we only had 1-2 afternoons of drizzle/rain (plus one proper mountain storm) - otherwise it was 30 degrees sunshine most of the time. Overall we had an awesome holiday. The kids have already decided that mountain holidays are the way forward....and to be honest I think they have a point.

“Baby heaven - everything you need for a stress-free holiday”
Reviewed May 20, 2015 for a stay in May 2015

This was our first break away with our one-year old, so we wanted somewhere that would allow us to relax. Chalet Le 4 was built with young families in mind. Everything - from the pool, washing and drying facilities, intercom baby monitors, cots - it's all fabulous. Our apartment had a lovely feeling - very cosy and welcoming, and there's nothing like fresh croissants in the morning, which are delivered on request. Eva and Piet are great hosts - their meals are excellent if you don't want to cook - and they know the area intimately. Le Grand Bornand is a special town. It's quiet, but none the worse for that. Our little one couldn't get enough of the cows and their bells! She was teething most of the week, but we still left feeling refreshed, which tells its own story. Can't recommend it enough.

“Places of this quality are rare in the Alps”
Reviewed January 13, 2015 for a stay in December 2014

We rented 3 apartments.. They are high quality, comfortable and homely, made all the better by Eva and Pete our hosts, who did all they could to make our stay memorable. The gym and swimming pool were a big hit with the children and for those adults who didn't ski (how else do you work off the Tartiflettes and Fondus?). The location for us was perfect. The chalet is in a lovely valley and only 100 mtrs from a free bus service into town, although we drove into Grand Bornand most days. And if you are a gastronome it is only a short stroll to La Ferme du Lormay, where Albert will cook you some good honest dishes in his quaint and atmospheric farmhouse..now a restaurant with modest prices.

The welcome was great. The attention to detail was fantastic. Eva cooked superb meals, all in all the experience exceeded our expectations. Well done Eva and Pete and your 4 children who cleared the sow from the drive!
