“Fantastic, family friendly stay!”
Reviewed June 19, 2015 for a stay in May 2015

This was our second time at Chalet Le 4 staying in Apt. 1. We were anxious that our stay would not live up to the memories of such a great time the previous year. But we needn't have been worried! We loved it just as much and hope to return again. For us, you can't beat the location - you look out on to stunning snow capped mountains and lush green fields and can hear the distant ring of cowbells. It's only a short drive into Le Grand Bornand itself where, even in off peak season, there were restaurants open and all you need in terms of groceries etc. There's a larger supermarket not far away too. The chalet itself is kitted out beautifully - all very simple in style, spotlessly clean and really spacious too. Apt 1 opens out onto the decked area where you can eat outside or sunbathe on a lounger whilst watching the kids bounce on the trampoline or play on the climbing frame! For children it's perfect - our 2 boys aged 3 and 4 loved it as much as last year too. The playroom on the top floor is fantastic with plenty to keep them entertained from colouring to table football, a book corner, lego, train track, play kitchen and the list goes on. The indoor pool was a must every day for our boys who couldn't get enough of it. It's small but perfect for young children with a shallow area and buttons to activate a mini waterfall and bubbles! Little extras like having bread delivered to your door each morning make it feel indulgent too. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Chalet le 4 to families looking for a break in the mountains.

“Beautiful and serene chalet in a lovely valley”
Reviewed May 9, 2015 for a stay in March 2015

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the chalet. Eva the owner is really helpful but also unobtrusive, so we really felt like we had lots of time to ourselves. The chalet was empty except for us which was such a bonus. There is a ski bus which picks up nearby and goes into the ski lifts, which is very handy. Kitchen is well equipped and Eva can cook a meal if you let her know in advance. There is a lovely restaurant just 5 mins walk away along the valley, the Ferme de L'Ormay, which is very old, authentic, always busy and full of interesting locals. The pudding are amazing. Fantastic to have this on the doorstep and Eva can organise a babysitter if you need one. The pool is on the small side but was perfect for us especially as no one else was using it. If the chalet was full it may get a little crowded but we didn't have that problem. We loved the whole thing and indeed have booked already for next March. Highly recommended.

“Lovely ground floor appartment with fantastic views and easy access to pool, gym and sauna”
Reviewed February 16, 2015 for a stay in January 2015

The apartment is beautifully light and airy with modern furnishings and decoration. Decoration and lighting is of the highest standard. Beds can be arranged as king-size doubles or large twin beds on request. There are comfortable chairs and a settee providing seating for all guests. High quality bed linen, towels and bath robes are provided. Beds are made up on arrival so you can relax as soon as you have unpacked!
The apartment has disabled access throughout except in the second bedroom. Full length glass doors in the main bedroom and lounge provide wonderful views of the valley and easy access onto the level balcony. The en-suite bathroom is adapted with a high-level toilet and walk-in, step-free shower. The family bathroom also has a shower over the bath.
The gym, pool, sauna, ski-lockers and communal laundry are all located on the same floor as the apartment and easily accessible (no steps). There was occasionally some noise as other guests accessed the ski-lockers but this is compensated for by ease with which you can quickly access your own locker and all the other facilities.
The owners live on site and provide a delivery service for bread and pastries most mornings of the week. Capsules for the coffee machine, dishwasher tablets and washing machine powder can also be purchased in small quantities if required.
The location of the apartment is particularly good if you are cross-country skiing but there is a regular bus service for those wanting to get to the ski lifts in Le Grand Bornand or Chinaillon. For those without a car, the hotel close by has a bar and restaurant.

Liked best: Beautiful location and comfortable furniture
Liked least: Some noise in the lounge area when the endless pool is in operation but this is not too noticeable. This is a very minor point and would not put me off staying in the apartment again!

“Most relaxing holiday with our toddler we've had!”
Reviewed September 21, 2014 for a stay in September 2014

We had a fantastic two weeks at Chalet Le 4 with our energetic 18 month old - staying in the ground floor apartment was perfect as we had direct access to the garden (with trampoline and slide). It really felt like the owners had thought of everything that could make things comfortable for holidaying with children - lovely playroom, pool with toys, comfy cot etc. We went out of season (September) and at first were worried the local area seemed to be shut for the season in terms of gondolas and activities but once we got the hang of when things were running and where to go (with help from Eva at Chalet Le 4) we had a great time. The lake at Annecy was perfect for relaxing mornings with several options for swimming, children's paddling pools and cafes, and there were some beautiful views from the gondola at La Clusaz. Another favourite was the Forest of Senses which had a children's nature trail that was easy for our toddler to run around. Definitely recommend and hope to return some time!

“Fantastic Holiday”
Reviewed September 10, 2014 for a stay in August 2014

We have just returned from a weeks holiday at Chalet le 4 and highly recommend it, we will definitely go back soon. The chalets are spacious, beautifully decorated and contain everything you could need for a holiday with a young family - proper wooden cots, changing mats and even children's nightlights. The garden has loads of play equipment and a trampoline. The pool is very shallow at one end so little kids can splash about safely. Eva cooked for us twice, delicious 3 course meals served in the cosy communal dining room (each chalet also has it's own very well equipped kitchen and dining area), which has a great built in baby monitor linked to all the bedrooms. There was so much to do with the kids nearby - a lido, trampolining, cable cars, summer luge, Lake Annecy for beaches etc. For the grown-ups, stunning scenery, lovely restaurants (many up the mountains have trampolines to keep the kids entertains) and a huge number of sports. We didn't want to come home so will go back for longer next time!

“Fabulous!”
Reviewed August 24, 2014 for a stay in August 2014

A truly fabulous accommodation in a great location. The owners did everything they could to ensure that our visit was comfortable and enjoyable. Travelling with a 2 and 3 year old can be hard work but everything was provided to ensure that we had everything we needed, down to the night-lights for the children and daily bread service in the morning. We needed to find additional accommodation prior to our visit and the owners did everything they could to find us accommodation even though they were not obliged to do so. The facilities were such that the children were kept entertained throughout our holiday - swimming pool, outdoor play area, games room and Le Grand Bornand is clearly a family-friendly resort. The owners also hosted a table on our first night for both the children and for the adults. My children loved the fact that they had their 'own party' and were able to meet other children. Would definitely recommend. We are booking again next year - fabulous accommodation, fabulous resort.

“Can't wait to come back - wonderful chalet, beautiful setting & great hosts”
Reviewed August 8, 2014 for a stay in July 2014

We stayed for one week in summer with an extended family group and the chalet was the perfect set up - separate apartments with full kitchens plus a shared dining and lounge area and even a playroom for the kids! The apartments were generously sized, spotlessly clean, tastefully decorated and incredibly comfortable. There's also a great pool, gym and sauna guests can use. We had delicious breakfasts every morning prepared by Eva and enjoyed lovely meals prepared by her too. The chalet is in a lovely valley and there's lots to see and do around the area. We'd love to come back. Thanks again for a great stay.
