One removed from a youth hostel but not as clean! Superb location and good breakfasts with as much as you can eat but didn't enjoy being faced with a filthy bathroom, dirty towels and a sanitary bin still full from previous occupants. After finally acquiring clean towels we thought we'd take a shower only to find there was no hot water. Tried again in the morning - cold. Tried again that evening - luke warm. And so it went on until, fed up with our complaining, we were offered a key to the sauna where we found two rather grotty (but hot) showers. Strange how the hotel's owners chose to install a spa bath, sauna and multi gym in preference to improving the efficiency of the hot water system!
There was no shortage of entertainment. The walls were so thin that nothing was left to the imagination and the crowd of drunken Belgians who we're drinking and smoking below our bedroom window had a fun time until the police were called in the early hours. How strange that the 'hotel's' manager did nothing to move them away! Perhaps this was somehow connected to the management being Belgian.
Some good housekeeping and basic investment is all that's needed to make this a cracking place to stay but until they get rid of the torn sheets, muck under the beds, useless hot water system and smell of stale tobacco, it will remain a dump.
